How would you like the next year to go?

In the face of all these Bernie hate posts, I think it’s fair to ask DUers what exactly they’d like the next year and more to look like? Did people here have so much fun in 2015/16 that they just can’t wait for round two?

Ok so some of you really don’t like Bernie Sanders. So what? Lots of people here do. Is it absolutely essential that you share your dislike in 20 posts a day for the next year, ensuring that DU once again breaks up into buttery opposed factions, doing the GOP’s job for them?

Bernie might not be your cup of tea, but he’s a progressive and a billion times better than the racist asshat in the White House. So how about this time around we focus on the enemy and stop with the circular firing squad?

1. Primaries shouldn't be cookie parties.

Try being someone who really likes Gillibrand. I'm seeing some seriously think skin out there.

3. I don't find Bernie Sanders to be a "progressive" in the least.

He sets back progress and fuels division in a party that he refuses to join.

We have a great crop of Democratic candidates. I'm beyond disappointed that BS has opted for Round 2.

This is on him.

7. Why is he divisive?

Really think about that question please, outside the prism of DU. He’s a lifelong progressive who champions progressive policies and equality. Just because this place turned on each other in 16 doesn’t mean it has to happen again.

10. As I said, I do not find his ideology to be progressive.

I support liberal Democratic values. That's why I'm a lifelong Democrat.

Liberalism is progressive. The Democratic party is progressive.

11. I'm genuinely curious

Which of his policies would you consider not progressive?

17. F-35 Bomber. Anti-trade. Isolationism. Downplaying civil right struggles as "identiy politics".

Populism. Attacking the Democratic Party. Guns. The NRA.

16. My problem is with Sanders' ideology.

I'm a liberal Democrat. Not a Democratic Socialist.

4. It's way too early to pledge loyalty to anyone.

My plan is to let the field clear & see who's left. We need someone with the intelligence & strength to lead us out of this disaster our country has turned into. I also have a hard time considering someone who will be 80 when serving in office. Yes, that's ageist. But as a person in my late 60's, the desire for what I want to accomplish runs up against the reality of what I can do. Just saying.

6. I don't have any issue with anything you said.

Primary season is supposed to be about considering the field and making an informed choice. I’m a big supporter of Bernie, but if one of the others catches fire on the campaign trail then I could be persuaded to switch.

I also share your concerns about his age, although it’s not a deal breaker for me.

18. OH MY GOD YOU HORRIBLE AGEIST.

Kidding.

Sanders makes Trump look physically vigorous by comparison. I may agree with 99% of what he says, but that is not a winning formula.

15. I want to see everyone get a fair shake

So no one feels cheated and hopefully everyone will support the candidate that everyone believes won fair and square. And I definitely hope my person wins, whoever I end up supporting 😊

I really hope the media will focus on policy and not who’s up and who’s raised the most money and especially not try to pick someone for us before any voting.

19. Consider me properly scolded

But I think Bernie is going to get the smallest taste of what Hillary went through this time around. It’s not going to be pretty. He is not my choice, and I believe I have legitimate objections but if I’m correct, he’s got a tsanami of bullshit headed his way.
