From tomorrow's letters section of my local paper:
GOP handling errors better than Democrats
The GOP nominee for U.S. Senate in Missouri made a stupid and indefensible statement about rape and everyone from Mitt Romney on down within the Republican Party has immediately called on him to resign. Last week, Joe Biden before a predominantly black
audience clearly stated that Romney would "put y'all back in chains." President Obama and his surrogates stepped forward to defend this racist and dimwitted statement by our vice president. That my friends is the difference between principled people and the vacuous and opportunistic left.

In case your brain is bleeding from reading this false equivalency, at least the editor published a letter calling Condi Rice and the Bush admin "Iraq war criminals".
Of course, Akin's comments demeaned women, while Biden's demeaned Wall Street rather than black people.
(ETA) A-HA! Just found out where the letter writer's talking point originated: Brent Bozell of the Media Research Center ("Media Obsess Over Akin to Distract From Economy" ! Bozell complained: "Theres no denying that what Rep. Todd Akin said was completely inappropriate, but for it to receive four times more coverage than the Vice President of the United States indefensibly racist gaffe is unconscionable. Todd Akin is a congressman. Joe Biden is one heartbeat from being the leader of the Free World. Once again, the medias double standard is exposed for all to see."

I don't find Biden's comment either offensive or racist. I find it rather accurate actually.

If the GOP is gonna gripe about Biden then they will have to denounce Palin too

ball and chain every time I go to work.
Looks to me, the only ones who are racists are the republicans for even thinking Biden's comment was a racist comment!
