I wanted him to run for President!

(5,780 posts)He's been a test pilot and an astronaut. Both of those jobs require - in addition to great physical ability and courage - intellect and a belief in science. Of all the times America needs a belief in science - it's now. He would be in a unique position to remind his fellow Senators of the importance of fact-based decisions and the education of our youth.
Mark was courageous by choice. His wife Gabby has had a different sort of courage thrust upon her. As a Senator and a member of the Armed Services who has seen his family devastated by gun violence, Mark would be in a unique position to advocate for common-sense gun reform.
Science and common sense gun reform are important to me personally, and I think having smart, brave Americans in office should be important to everyone.

(101,702 posts)So, I'm glad he's running. I don't want to put them through a Presidential run, but I think the Senate run could be ok for them, if they get the support deserved.

(31,657 posts)He is so courageous ... and the way hes been by her side throughout her recuperation .... you could just feel his love and devotion to her ....And she got a standing O just walking out on the stage. Two people who make me proud to be American, as corny as that sounds. He will make a great Senator. They are so inspiring.

(13,340 posts)When he was a Navy test pilot, I was a flight test engineer in his same department... Carrier Suitability. I also met his brother, Scott, but Scott was in a different department. Mark Kelly is a quality individual. He's smart. He's kind. He's funny. And he's a great leader. I went on more than one detachment where he was the Officer In Charge.
He'd make a GREAT Senator..... and he'd make a GREAT President.

He will certainly be viable when he does run.

(53,061 posts)Kelli Ward will challenge her in the primary.
McSally only got 54% in the Republican primary.
McSally got Trump to get Arpaio to run to split the nut wing if the Republican party.
Arpaio signs were not only paid by McSally, not only from the same printer but used the same template.
Kelli Ward is pissed and wants revenge.
Last month Kelli Ward became chairperson of the Republican Party and the radicals love her.
If McSally votes against Trump at any point she could lose the primary

(3,275 posts)It is because I don't live in Arizona so I can't vote for him.
I think he would be a great senator. I wish him the best of luck.

(37,648 posts)That campaign is the toughest in the world. It's not for beginners, no matter how great they are.
After he runs this time and gets into the Senate...that's enough for him to tell if he can run for the big Kahuna.
