I thought I would turn on the idiot box for a few mins before going to bed. I saw the biggest waste of Oxygen I had seen in a long time. Where did this crap come from? My dogs excrement has more musical talent.
Sorry for being such a curmudgeon, that level of talent just rubs me the wrong way.

I'm not a prude, and open minded but, jeez.
A former New England curmudgeonette. 😆

(41,915 posts)Might not be your cuppa but she has considerable talent. And in part she was giving a nod to the great Josephine Baker.
In fact there was a lot of talent tonight, and of a pretty wide variety. And the women ruled, and that was a very good thing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but this woman's success is indeed indicative of true talent.

and finishing close behind that one was a Led Zeppelin show. Both times the performers were absolutely fall-down drunk.

They phoned that one in.
Goes to show, sometimes they bring it and sometimes they don't.

(146,192 posts)of the person you're ranting about. Besides what is Cardi B to you in the first place? Does she interfere with your life in any way? Why would you bother to write this? You might want to consider self-deleting it, really.

(11,584 posts)She killed it last night. She's been around making music and working hard for awhile now and its so great to see her finally get the spotlight. Greedy me only regrets I won't be able to go catch her in the small venues anymore when she comes through town.

I have trouble appreciating her music, too. But I loved the futuristic staging of her performance.

(15,998 posts)Her music may not be to my taste, but neither was some of the music when I was younger.
It's part of getting older to not quite get the younger generations.
The trick is to accept that and realize that new/different is not bad (or automatically good)...it just is.

(9,213 posts)I just didn't really get it. There wasn't really a melody and the words didn't really make sense, it just seemed like a lot of noise. I have heard about her in the media and stuff but had never seen or heard one of her songs, but that definitely didn't leave me wanting more. I felt that way about 1/4 of the performances last night, I get they want some kind of big production, but I don't agree with it at the expense of the music.

(14,505 posts)performers who you actually heard of. The Grammys would appear cluless, like the time they gave the hard rock/heavy metal award to Jethro Till.

My music was going to send me straight to Hell! I had to choose Ricky Nelson over Elvis if I wanted to keep my little box record player.
My teenage grandkids own my radio preset buttons, and I don't mind. When I'm alone I can listen to oldies or country or classical.
I tell the kids that the important thing is to love as much music as they can.
