2. WOW. She's HUGE.

No designer would dress a Grammy nominee? Riiiiiiiiiiight.

Shameless publicity grab and an insult to women who are truly ostracized because of their weight.

10. This has been a problem recently.

Designers don't want anyone outside of their perfect look. Two very public examples are Leslie Jones and Megan Mullally. Jones doesn't fit the bill for a classic model and Mullally wasn't interesting (read : young) enough, even though she was hosting an awards show.

Christian Siriano has been welcoming to all of the so-called "misfits" but you'd think others would pick up the slack.

3. size 8 for the love of God

She should have publicly named the designers who refused. There are some, including a recent Project Runway winner, who specifically dress larger women. I mean size 8.

11. Siriano

And he adores dressing "real" women. He does great work and I bet he'd have dressed her if he knew. But why is he one of the only designers doing this?

16. Adele is in the big leagues.

She will have something.

There are reports of this all the time. Even Beyonce has said that designers used to refuse to dress her because she was AA and too curvy. Once she got on the A list things changed.

9. Unreal! Size 8 is now too 'big?'

That's my size and only once, once in my life have I been smaller. And that was with starving myself which I vowed I'd never, ever do again.

Meanwhile the dress looks fabulous on her. These designers want women's bodies to look like bony clothes hangers.

Meanwhile she looks gorgeous.

17. Well then designers need to get over themselves and their twig thin models

It's a complete cop out on their parts. What exactly does it say about them? To me it means they are incapable of making something that looks decent for anyone who isn't anorexic. Can you imagine any other industry that could get away with that? "Sorry, but we won't sell you that car because you must be 4'10" or under to drive it."

13. A list of others who designers have refused

In the past. Even the Queen Bee herself, Beyonce, is on the list along with a Kardashian and a couple of Oscar nominees.

This is actually a problem in the industry.

20. wouldn't it be something special if...

...every single woman over a size 6 showed up at the next awards ceremony wearing a potato sack?

Think of the ramifications: the red carpet show might last all of 10 minutes, which would completely piss off the advertisers.

"A little rebellion, no and then, is a healthy thing."

21. Jesus Christ. Since when is size 8 big?

Most of the women I know are size 14-20, and I would not call them "big". By that I mean that it is not important to me, so I don't care what their size or body type is. I know perhaps one woman who is perhaps smaller than an 8.

I think that if women (and men) are judged by the size clothes that they wear, well, that just goes along with everything else that is fucked up in this country right now.
