1. Such an important and profound video, I was blown away when my kids first shared it with me.

I thought I understood all the symbolism & meaning, but there was so much much more....

11. My teenage son loves him.

I loved him when he was on the tv show Community. Never listened to his music. My son showed me the video and it was shocking, but amazing. Sometimes we need a shot in the behind to wake us up. My teenager gets the message and i hope he and his generation continue pushing for change throughout their lives. I see it as their country now, too, soon to be handed over completely. They will make it their own, and hopefully they will make it better for all of us.

12. Every generation does songs that reflect the state of America

and after almost 40 years, it really ain't much different from when this came out (except nowadays they can include more graphic content and explicit language) -

And just over 40 years before the above (80 years ago this year), Lady Day (Billy Holiday) recorded "Strange Fruit".

20. I love Donald Glover and Childish Gambino

I saw this performance on SNL. I had to go see his video afterwards to see the visuals he used. I was kinda in shock and awe.

I was really glad the record industry recognize the importance of the message and rewarded him for it. Very good job.
