Ex-FBI Official Says He's 'Interviewed Terrorists Who Are More Cooperative nd Respectful'

Than Acting AG

Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee Friday, widely rebuked by Democrats, has also earned the scorn of a former leading FBI official. Whitaker, who was appointed to the role by President Donald Trump following the ousting of Jeff Sessions in November, repeatedly avoided questions from Democrats during Friday’s hearing. On several occasions, Sessions’s former chief of staff challenged the authority of the committee, which was holding its first hearing with a member of the Trump administration since Democrats took control of the House in the 2018 midterms.

Speaking on MSNBC shortly after the hearing, former FBI Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Frank Figliuzzi said Whitaker’s performance compared negatively to some of the most dangerous criminals he had interviewed in his career.

“I’m not kidding when I say I have interviewed terrorists who are more cooperative and respectful than Matt Whitaker was today,” Figliuzzi began, provoking laughter from MSNBC host Nicole Wallace. “I gotta tell you, I say that with sadness, because the attorney general role is America's lawyer.

“We are his client and we are represented by the Congress members sitting in that room and he treated us with utter disdain, sarcasm, barely trying to get through this seriously,” Figliuzzi continued. “This is basically thumbing your nose at oversight by the people. And the way he conducted himself today is an indication that he is not America’s attorney. He is essentially seeing himself as Trump’s attorney.”

10. Ditto. Exactly what I thought while watching.

Maybe this is what we should expect from GOP administrators from now on. The behavioral trajectory has consistently been toward degradation of the norms, and they always seem to obtain some level of success in terms of achieving their aims. I’m sure it is ultimately temporary success, but they have never been able to see the woods for the trees so success here and now dominates their mind-set.

4. Oh, I don't think so.

Somebody has something lined up for him.

He's just another low-level gangster.. perhaps the driver, or the delivery boy....

13. Whitaker could be appointed the Oval Office toilet valet,..

..... he could wipe the tushies of all the big shots who parade through trDump's office in the West Wing.

And in trDump's case Whitaker could also plant a big juicy kiss on trDump's butt after he wipes the Grand Canyon Valley clean after his 10 daily full of shit poops and various defecation movements from either the orifice called his mouth and the other orifice called his fat ass.

Bring ten extra large rolls of paper towels for that sizable job.

8. He'll probably go back to his old job in his PAC.

You know, the single unidentified donor PAC that paid him over a million.

6. Laughter is not the first thing that came to my brain when I read that

line. I don't really understand these people sometimes. Maybe I need to see it before commenting. However, I do not think it's a laughing matter that OUR Acting Attorney General is less cooperative than terrorists.

7. The conservanazis are domestic terrorists.

If the rethugs lose power and control of the government, the will resort to violence. I believe it's just a matter of time.

9. YEP: "He is essentially seeing himself as Trump's attorney."

That is exactly right. He wasn't there representing America's interest, he was only there to protect the White House Grifters.

But, of course, I could not. So thanks for doing this.

15. Whitaker's Pathetic Performance Was Only the Latest Demonstration of Trump's & the GOP's Corruption

It's obvious, Trump and the GOP are running a criminal enterprise as evidenced by this latest disastrous performance by a clearly unqualified Whitaker at the House Judiciary hearing. However, Whitaker's contempt for the committee and their questions didn't completely hide his fear, likely predicated on his long history of shady business dealings. Even with his stonewalling, Whitaker left behind enough breadcrumbs to warrant further investigation into his past, multiple crooked ventures -- the bogus patent company, the crooked charity, and so on. Yet, Whitaker is far from being in the clear and so his obvious lobbying of Trump for a future job (and with it, a pardon). Down the road, Whitaker could very easily be looking at serious prison time.

Regardless, it was a sad day for America when the entire world could see what a loser is serving as U. S. Attorney General. Thank you, GOP!
