Those watching the Whitaker hearing already know this, but for those unable to watch,

it is a disgusting spectacle featuring a "chancred whore" alternately smirking and lying as he does his best to avoid answering any questions except those posed by Republicans and for which he has scripted answers. In short, it is just what any intelligent person would expect from anyone in the Trump regime. But, however expected this conduct may be, it is NOT NORMAL!

Everything that has been said concerning the MULTIPLE investigations into Trump and his minions for the past several months can be summed up---IN THE EYES OF MOST AMERICANS---as "yada-yada-yada"! I believe we are at the point where most Americans expect SOMETHING to be done about the obvious lying, corruption and foreign influence on our government.

I fear that if this parade of "in your face" disrespect of the laws and rules and customs that have formed the foundation of our democracy for two and a half centuries is allowed to continue much longer, it will become the new "norm". We can't just care----we have to ACT or we will be (rightly) be seen as condoning what most now see as a nightmare.

3. Agree, but the problem is WE are doing all we can

you are preaching the choir, everyone here, all our liberal and progressive friends see what you note and have stepped up to the plate and continue to keep the Resistance alive and well.

The problem is that 1/3 of the country completely revels in the scumbaggery of this jackass, and another 1/3 of the country live in their oblivious "they are both the same" fog.

Not sure we can turn it around unless the country collectively calls conservatives for the deranged lunatics they are, and punish them at the polls for a significant period of time.

9. ++ Truth is the beginning of reconciliation in this country

^Cory Booker said that while talking about his bid for POTUS .
That line caught my attention because i pondered , in this time we are in , can it even begin?
He claimed he wanted to bring people together in truth .
Can the truth be acknowledged and affirmed by a majority ?
I think you are correct that we have to collectively come together as a nation awake to admit what we are witnessing ,and that it is truthfully not normal
We must call out as a country these lunatics if we are ever going to move forward

12. Hear! Hear!

I live in Indiana.

The Trump people won't listen at all, not sure anything he can do to change their minds. He could go on National TV confess to knowingly worked with Russia, they'd say ""Well, he had to save the country from crooked Hillary and the email server". They are fucking nuts.

The non political people "it doesn't matter, both sides are crooked". Most of those people think Trump is full of shit, but they still don't vote.

Nobody I know that is a Republican will even debate with me anymore, because I can calmly destroy them with facts. They usually have few. I have one good Republican friend that can debate for hours, can nitpick the Dems to death. He's usually not wrong, but the ability to completely ignore the non equivalency what each side does is mind boggling.

Thankfully my area and most of my closest friends feel like I do or I'd probably think about moving to a bluer state.

19. There is another problem.I think the Russians are embedded so deep into our

Democracy that it will take a generation to find out the whole truth. We may never know This crisis is 100 times over much worse than Watergate

The Russians have bought and paid for the Republicans in power and it will not be easy to get rid of them.
Russians have the technology to keep them in power and that is scary as hell.

4. This crap will continue until Republicans start going to prison.

We watched this disrespect for the Constitution start to bloom big time when Nixon skated. It will never stop unless significant numbers of GOPtrumpers go to prison for a very long time.

THIS is part of the intended destruction of American democracy and basic government functioning.

6. Is Nadler going to let this continue?

After repeated attempts by the Dems, Whitaker is still uncooperative. Why doesn't Nadler just subpoena him.

7. As I understood him, he closed by saying that Whitaker WOULD be asked to return and

either answer all questions or claim some valid privilege. He added that he WOULD subpoena him if necessary.

13. Agree, but let's realize the hearing IS part of Democrats acting.

The voters of America gave us a majority in the house effective just over a month ago, but, with critically valuable assistance from criminal Republican election interference, Republicans retain control of the senate. Democrats are very busy doing everything we can to battle corruption under these circumstances.

Apparently Maher's inner "good Bill" was in control last night, at least long enough for this: .

14. Agree, but think many analyze the day as "What changed?"; "What price is being paid for

such flippant arrogance and disrespect of Congress?"

You and I can answer that, but our answers---in my view---may be too nuanced to be absorbed. To those who consider that "elitist", I say that term is too frequently conflated with "realism".

17. Frank Figliuzzi took Whitaker's performance dead serious

yesterday. He said he's interviewed terrorists who were more cooperative and respectful than America's current AG -- OUR attorney who's given great power in order to represent the people in legal matters.

Figliuzzi said he treated us, through our representatives in that room with "utter disdain" and sarcasm, thumbing his nose at our oversight and seeing himself as Trump's attorney. And as we know, Trump wants to be a dictator, and many on the right now want that also.

As for price, we'll see. People with criminal allegations hanging over their heads should have stayed the hell away from any Trump admin positions. Figliuzzi pointed out that the FBI agents who take and protect him wherever he goes all regard him as a criminal. "He's not seen the last of the FBI."

to that person for linking a specific clip. Bad Bill's too often running loose pissing on everything while the audience laughs and nods, strictly aversion therapy, but I was glad he said this to his audience and others.

15. I don't get U.S. TV, so thanks for this

The couple of small clips I saw gave this indication, but this confirms that they were no exceptions to the rule.

He smirked and all but stated outright that any and all crimes committed by Republicans need not, and will not, be pursued or prosecuted by any Justice Department he heads.
