Actor Albert Finney has died...

https://www.theguardian.com/film/2019/feb/08/albert-finney-dies-film-tom-jones-orient-express-millers-crossing

Albert Finney, who forged his reputation as one of the leading actors of Britain’s early 60s new wave cinema, has died aged 82 after a short illness, his family have announced. In 2011, he disclosed he had kidney cancer.

A publicist told the Guardian that Finney died of a chest infection at the Royal Marsden hospital, which specialises in cancer treatment, just outside London. His wife, Pene, and son, Simon, were by his side.

Having shot to fame as the star of Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, Finney received five Oscar nominations, but never won, and refused a knighthood.

RIP.

R.I.P. Albert Finney...…

He had such range as an Actor, always dedicated to the role he played. It was his Tom Jones to John Newton in "Amazing Grace" that displayed that range over the many decades he lit up the screen.

All those incredible Brit actors who came up in the British New Wave cinema in the late 1950s-early 1960s.

So many solid heavyweights: Albert Finney, Peter O’Toole, Richard Burton, Alan Bates, Stanley Baker, Richard Harris, Laurence Harvey, Richard Attenborough, Alec Guinness, Tom Courtenay (still among us), Sean Connery (still among us), Terence Stamp (still among us) and Michael Caine (still among us). Barely scratched the surface with this list.

RIP Albert Finney
