If you knew that the final result of Ralph Northam's resignation would be a Republican Governor in Virginia, what would you prefer? That Northam resign or stay?

(18,193 posts)Northam is bad but any republican is worse.
That's an easy call.
But next time he can be replaced with a better Democrat, he should be.
(We could call this "the Joe Manchin rule" )

(10,491 posts)Northam was so involved with wearing blackface that he can't remember if he did on certain occasions.
Manchin is just someone making strategic votes in a naked attempt to hold his seat.
One is a bad person. One casts bad votes.

(135 posts)Democrats destroy their own, while Republicans stand behind theirs without any ramifications whatsoever. I have yet to see Democrats get rewarded for taking the "moral high ground." ALL THREE SHOULD NOT RESIGN. This whole situation pisses me off and brings me back to Franken. Even Republicans in the Senate did not think he should of resigned without a full investigation. Sorry, but this whole situation just boils my blood. I am just so tired of each party playing by a completely different set of rules.

(3,900 posts)on an uncorroborated allegation that hasn't even yet been publicly made. If more comes out, that's another thing. But until then, he shouldn't be run out of office not only because it would Ibe terribly unfair to Fairfax and the people who elected him, it would make every Democratic elected official fair game.
