I wish Comedy Central or somebody would do a SOTU simulcast with comic closed captions

That's the only way I could sit through this. Someone like Robert Smigel (who did the voice of Triumph the insult comic dog & all the voices from the fake interviews on the old Conan show) would probably be hilarious at it. It would get big ratings.

That's a great idea. Surprised more places didn't pick up on it with the 80s comedy club boom AdamGG Feb 2019 #6

And they should use the robots and the guy from MST 3000. Since it would be on cable, it wouldn't have to be censored.

I think we have a winner of an idea!

called "High Street". It was on Saturday nights, and they would tell you to turn on the TV and keep the sound down, and tell you which channel to tune to for the movie (there were usually 2 or 3 movies playing on the commercial channels then). They would then ad-lib a new soundtrack to the movie and all of the commercials. Some nights were better than others, and sometimes the whole thing would veer totally off the rails.
