[font color="green" face="Verdana"]My 4 cats get a treat every night before I go to bed. We've tried every brand and every flavor, and the Temptations dairy flavor are absolutely #1. Turkey treats come in 2nd, but all others lag far, far behind.

The treats have to be kept locked away securely, or the bags would be shredded and emptied in no time. And they know the word, "treats," so I don't dare use it unless I mean it.

I don't know how they do it, but the tinest rustle of the package will alert them even from a sound sleep in the next room, and it brings them running. They make me laugh, singing and fawning, and begging for every piece like it was better that catnip.

Especially Tommy with his urinary issues. I'm wondering if it's because they're both males?

14. Males AND females can get urinary problems with fish. In males it can be DANGEROUS

because of the risk of urinary obstruction. In females it's merely annoying unless really chronic and she gets a bladder full of stones.

Of my two female cats, one loved seafood and the other wouldn't touch it. But now that we have males, we were warned about giving them seafood, especially since one of them is being treated for crystals. The previous male required surgery for it since he did have an obstruction. It's not something that most people would think of, since it's a common belief that cats love fish and there is so much out there for cats containing seafood. Thanks so much for the information!

of North Africa, the Negev DESERT, and the Arabian Peninsula. There are no fish in the desert for them to eat. It is not in their evolutionary biology to eat fish, so it is an ALIEN food item. This probably accounts for why I see so many health problems associated with fish consumption, especially skin problems, urinary problems, and chronic GI problems.

Virtually the ONLY time I see cats with urinary obstruction is with new clients who haven't gotten the word yet: NO FISH!!!! It basically doesn't happen with my patients because I am always reminding my clients to not go there.
