Big League Politics is owned by a former Corey Stewart consultant.
The far-right news site that was first to publish a deeply racist photo from Virginia Governor Ralph Northams 1984 yearbook is owned by a consultant for Corey Stewart, the right-wing, neo-Confederate sympathizer who launched a failed bid to run against Northam for the states governorship in 2017.
Big League Politics, which broke the Northam story, was acquired last year by Mustard Seed Media, according to a report last year in The Daily Beast. Mustard Seed is owned by former Stewart campaign consultant Reilly ONeal, who also worked with Roy Moores failed Senate campaign in Alabama.
<snip>
Like Big League Politics itself, Mustard Seed Media makes no secret of its political leanings. In 2017, the company donated several thousand dollars worth of in-kind banners ads on an unidentified news site to two conservative political action committees in North Carolina, Pro-Life North Carolina PAC and North Carolina Gun Rights PAC. - Think Progress

(24,304 posts)Is he in that picture or not?
Was one of his nicknames 'coonman' or not?
Did he say he was in the photo and then say he wasn't?
Did he admit to wearing blackface to look like Michael Jackson?
How about... it is the RW attacking him and he was in that photo and he has admitted to having worn blackface
There's no falling for it when he has admitted as much

(4,066 posts)There is facial recognition software out there that could clear this all up.
If I were Northam I'd be looking into that.
We're not talking about a random picture that turned up out of nowhere.
IT'S ON HIS PAGE IN HIS YEARBOOK!

They were sitting on this story for a reason. This seems systematic and planned.

(27,762 posts)The anti-abortion crowd is running around bleating lies about abortion laws in Virginia. And pouf! The campaign begins and it's almost identical to the Fesnken takedown.
I am not excusing anyone for wearing black face - it's not something I've ever seen anyone even do - but I do think that taking a deep breath and really examining what happened (again, not defending black face or a KKK picture, what was anyone thinking?) and passing judgement in a measured manner.

I think obviously the republicans found it and waited until the right time to take him down, they knew we would kick him out or try to.
I think it his fault not only for having pic on his page but not being honest about his past to campaign. Even if he wasnt in the pic there is no way he didnt know about it unless its photoshopped and if that was the case we would have known by now.
