Maybe in the long run the trump regime will have been a good thing.
Like an innoculation of a dead virus that will protect us from even worse infections in the future.
What could be worse, you ask? How about a wannabe dictator but with actual smarts next time? Like a Stalin or a Hitler? This current gang is evil, but let's face it... this gang can't shoot straight, and they won't be lasting much longer. I sincerely hope that come 2020 our Democratic majority in both Houses and our Democratic President will take legislative measures that prevent the type of shit trump tried to pull and that bring to the light of public scrutiny all the shit he has tried to hide. I haven't felt this good since the presidential election.

1. Your optimism is a breath of fresh air, but the damage of stacking the courts continues.
Not to belittle you because I assume you think we have a lot ahead of us. Me too!

2. I agree.
Also, if Hillary had been sworn in I have no doubt that the Republican congress would have impeached her on some “trumped” up charge, and may even have convicted her in the Republican senate. Then, the “transnational criminal enterprise” that has corrupted Trump and company would continue on unexamined.

3. Did GW Bush (with Cheney in charge) save us from Trump?
War crimes rolled off of him like cheap beer!
I hate to say it, but as long as racists spin fear, they will win elections. It is basic brain biology. Fear of "the other" goes straight to the limbic brain. Those messages of fear trigger survival actions, and fog rational thought....and they work every time. |

4. No way, no how. No good came out of the trump cabal.
SCOTUS and the other repug-stocked courts are just one example of the stench of trump's admin.

6. Like anything in life
If we learn from it and make positive changes, then no matter how bad it was, at least it wasn't all in vain.
