Nathan Phillips on TODAY right now by remote.."I WAS TRYING TO WALK AWAY"

Savannah: What did you think of his interview with me: "I was upset I was made to sit down and watch it..I got into the first 30 seconds of it and I got up and said, well that's all I had to hear" "Lack of Sincerity...Coached...I went to pray and I forgive him."

Savannah G: Does he need to apologize...Nathan: "I am WAY down on the list of people he needs to apologize to.."

"I used my drum to pray and reach out to God....I felt spiritually moved into the whirlwind of this thing."

Savannah Guthrie: Why didn't YOU walk away? "I WAS TRYING TO WALK AWAY"

Now she is on the VietNam crap....

Was he trying to walk away and the Covington kids blocked him or did he deliberately insert himself to quell a potential fight?

Seems even he can’t figure it out.

He said he walked into the situation with the intent to diffuse tensions. He was blocked as he walked, tried to move around the kid, was blocked again and then stood there face to face, surrounded.

It was quite consistent, actually.

But Phillips isn't accorded an in-person interview. Several questions suggest themselves to me: Maybe Nathan Phillips didn't want to go to New York. Did Sandmann pay his own way to New York, or did the Today Show pay for him to be in studio? If the Today Show paid Sandmann's way, did they offer to pay Phillips' transportation? Or did the backlash from the Sandmann interview cause the Today Show to have to scramble to accord Phillips an opportunity to tell his side of things, and they didn't have time to get Phillips to New York because the show hadn't planned to talk to Phillips?

That's for starters. I'm sure other questions will pose themselves.
