It costs a lot of money to house prisoners. Do not get me wrong I do not believe in the death penalty either but the thought of him still getting things that a lot of people can not have just burns me.

167. Studies show it costs more to execute, at least up front.

Cases without the death penalty cost $740,000, while cases where the death penalty is sought cost $1.26 million.

Giving him the worst is worth every penny.

He needs to suffer, every day, every hour, and he needs to live a long time. I'd go with something like never ending heartburn, or constant muscle cramping. He needs to suffer as much as all of the suffering he's caused himself. All of his stealing, his bullying, his vengeful behavior, his constant lying and conning... Jeez. I can keep going on...

And it was the pardon of Nixon, the pardons of GHW Bush, and the failure of the Obama administration and the new Congress not to prosecute the crimes of Bush the Stupider that have brought us McDonald Trump. We need to break this streak of unpunished Republican Executive crimes and hold them accountable at long last.

121. That was the George HW Bush pardons

Dead of night, Christmas Eve 1992, after Bush had lost re-election to Bill Clinton. Just a couple of weeks before Independent Counsel Lawrence Walsh was going to try Reagan administration officials for selling arms to Iran and using the proceeds to fund terrorists in Central America.

In addition to Caspar Weinberger, Bush pardoned Robert C. McFarlane, Elliott Abrams, and three former CIA officials, Clair E. George, Alan D. Fiers Jr. and Duane R. "Dewey" Clarridge. McFarlane, Abrams and Fiers had all already pled guilty to various charges, and the trial of Weinberger and others was going to put the lie to Bush's claim that he was "out of the loop" on the Iran/contra crimes.

These pardons were also the time when the notion of criminalizing policy differences entered our political lexicon, thanks to Bush. That formulation has been used as a shield and a cudgel to defend Republican criminality ever since.

"Kooky or extremist" ....something like that. I am old school when it comes to punishments for the worst of the worst criminals (sadists, psychopaths, serial killers and rapists, etc). You know, tar and feathering, drawn and quartered, Spanish Inquisition type stuff. I want it to be out in the open on live TV filmed in a huge arena so the public can humiliate them immensely. 16. The pardons were there just so the government could save face.

Once they were pardoned, there was a better chance of them "going away" than if they were in prison and making people wonder if anyone else should be there too. It's the old "sweep it under the rug" tactic.

We as a nation have become way too gullible.

He has put this country through several years of hell. He has done an enormous amount of damage that harms the reputation of the USA around the world. He cannot be allowed to resign and then slink off to Mara-a-Lago to sulk and lick his wounds.

He (and everyone else involved in this entire debacle) must be tried and convicted. Then locked up until they draw their last breath. They have betrayed this country and must be punished.

for which investigators find sufficient reason to indict him, and due process must be followed. I will not call for anyone to be punished without fair and legal process and trial, even though I despise tRump as much as anyone here.

That said, I only wish there were laws that prescribed appropriate punishment for any public official that lies to his/her constituents where that lying causes substantial physical, mental or financial harm. We would have to build many new jails.

If he's still alive at his exit, there are many entities out there ready to proceed with various charges and filings against him. Watching him get dragged from one court to the other, becoming the world's most hackneyed loser - that would be sweet icing on the cake.

Literally. He is ordered by a judge to wear a gag when he goes out in public or appears before a camera with sound.

Then, I would like to see him forced to make whole all those small businesses he stiffed along the way, from the piano deliverer to the people who built his fancy digs and then got stiffed for a third or more of the agreed-to price. By then, he'll have about $159.50 left to his name, and a credit rating to match.

All of them should be locked up, but not in one of those posh prisons.
Let them go to regular prisons and be placed among common people.

We'd see the Dumpster become pale and bald.
We'd see Ivanka with tattered nails and lice in her hair.
We know that Jared, Eric and Don Jr will be deathly afraid to drop the soap.

Let them own their shame, live long, and die in prison.
Let their wealth be distributed to the needy.

That would make me very happy.

Donald Trump MUST be prosecuted. He simply MUST. Nixon wasn't. That led to Reagan being willing to violate the Constitution, as he did with Iran/Contra. Clinton is sort of a special case but when he lied under oath, he SHOULD have been prosecuted. Sorry. Clinton was supposed to be smart. He COULD have avoided that mess.
IF Trump is not prosecuted, the next time will be worse and we are getting closer and closer to the end of this democratic republic.

We don't have that in this country, but we should still strive for it. Trump has committed scores of crimes. Ideally, he should be charged and prosecuted as if he were poor and black, which probably means spending the rest of his life in prison. It is corrosive to the social fabric to allow someone to engage in criminal conduct in plain sight and go unpunished.

The rest need to see just what awaits them now and in the future. No more hand-holding/slapping.

He is the worst traitor this country has ever had. He needs to pay the price.

He can then join Osama bin Laden at the bottom of the sea.

of the children and teens. And I want him to get a silver "blanket".
After that I want him and the silver blanket put in prison.

If I were a lyricist I would write a song with that as the hook in the chorus.
Verses describing the fallout of his demeanor and the allowance by the old white men in power that could have intervened.

140. I want him to lose all his ill-gotten gains

I want him to be homeless. I want him to suffer through the same things that he ignores others having suffered. Jail is too good for him, as he would have shelter and food. I want him to lose it all, along with his entire crime family losing all they have as well.

I'd like to never hear his name spoken again, i.e., no monuments or celebratory days or even no mention of his foul offspring! Let the name trump go down in ignominous history!

just expeling him from the WH to resume his businesses, although they will likely crater because of the damage done to his brand.

Running for president is his ruination.

151. Resigning would be just the first step, AFAIC. . .

. . .He's facing a shitload of prosecutions on federal, NY state, and other state levels. Criminal and civil courts.

In the end, I want him, his family and his associates in prison, and ALL of their assets confiscated.

Of course, any treason or sedition charge would be a whole new level.

156. I'm A Former Cold Warrior: If Trump Resigns, PROSECUTE!

Im a former Cold War voter who reluctantly voted for Republican presidential candidates because I sincerely believed that theyd be tougher on the Kremlin than their Democratic counterparts.

That being said, I emphatically endorse investigating and prosecuting Donald Trump either for allowing the Russian Federation to influence our elections and Individual One for being an agent of an unfriendly foreign power. Such behavior by American politicians not only shouldnt be tolerated, but the parties involved should be prosecuted so such behavior should be deterred in the future.

161. As much

as a lot of people want revenge, and see Trump get demolished politically, financially and rot in jail, it's not going to happen.

The history of American Presidents who were found to not come up to expectations, is that they were neutralised, taken out of office, but then left alone.

The best we can hope for with Trump, is that he ends up in some gated retirement village for the Terminally Confused, where he can spend his days talking to like minded Old White Men who reminisce about their past glories, and wonder why things turned out the way they did.
He may even get the occasional visit from some close relatives, at least those who bother to remember who he is.

170. the question makes me wonder

If someone is probing what they can get away with , not what the legal consequences for everyone is. If he committed crimes he should have consequences like everyone else does, and punished equally for it . Being a public servant he also should be held to a high standard, not given special treatment where he escapes justice because of his powers he has.

173. The investigation would need to continue

We need him out, but just as much we need to root out those who have protect his criminal activities.

Jail is fine, but some future president would just pardon him and let him move back to one of his properties, assuming Russia doesnt foreclose in the mean time.

My preferred result would be for him to give up his US citizenship and move to Russia where he belongs. I strongly feel this would be far more likely to end in something close to what he personally deserves than anything the US justice system can or would actually accomplish.

letting his ass off easy sets a horrible example for the next corrupt motherfucker to get the job. Democrats let W's bunch off easy and look what that got us. no, not prosecuting Republican crimes is simply unsustainable. this country can't survive long term by letting them off the hook every time.
