The forest for the trees...

The major takeaway from this shutdown should be that so many working people do not have enough saved for a month's rent or mortgage payment. The shutdown has exposed this country's dirty little secret and it is a time bomb.

But I'm also pretty sure that's true all over the world. It's a time bomb for us all.

There's no way to stave off the long-term consequences. And if the pain the traitor inflicts stops being enough for him, God help the world. He will start a war to increase the suffering. American carnage, indeed.

blame Trump completely for this. People can't make ends meet or save money because of crap jobs that don't pay a living wage, outrageous drug prices, food prices, educational costs and on and on and on. We have politicians who went to Washington as middle income folks and are now millionaires. Looks at the ads on TV: when was the last time you gave your CO or kid a luxury car for Christmas? When was the last time you saw a drug ad that didn't warn that it could kill you and then invited you to contact them if you couldn't pay for it?

If we blame this on Trump, we are missing the point.

I'm lucky enough to have savings via " a good job" but you know what that cost me? Enormous student debt- Go figure. Its one or the other.
