Record Numbers of Americans Want to Leave the U.S.

https://news.gallup.com/poll/245789/record-numbers-americans-leave.aspx

Please note: I am not advocating or supporting this, but this is happening.

snip of article:

While Donald Trump has spent much of his presidency focused on the number of people who want to get into the U.S., since he took office, record numbers of Americans have wanted to get out.

Though relatively average by global standards, the 16% of Americans overall who said in 2017 and again in 2018 that they would like to permanently move to another country -- if they could -- is higher than the average levels during either the George W. Bush (11%) or Barack Obama administration (10%).

2. Our dream retirement home would be some English village like...

Midsommer or Kembleford (only without all the murders that needed solving by Father Brown or Tom Barnaby). If we could afford it, we'd go now and never look back.

4. LOL - I knew I wasn't the only one hooked on British mystery shows.

That said, I might opt for Port Isaac, the town where "Doc Martin" is filmed. Or I could just move into Downton Abbey. LOL.

6. Or maybe Glenbogle in the Scottish Highlands.

As long as I was living comfortably in a cozy cottage and nobody in my family had to be the Laird of Glenbogle. My husband could go fishing and I'd spend my days in the garden or painting (I might even join a book club or do some volunteer work).

What a wonderful retirement fantasy!

5. Du'er GoneOffShore recently did just that.

Moved to Aix-en-Provence (France) from Philadelphia this year.

If I were about 10 years younger, I might be doing the same thing. I've thought seriously about it, but doing it alone at soon to be 68 isn't quite as appealing.
