(576 posts)who said it would be a bad move for Obama to make the appointment as it had only been done twice in history, and such a move is not becoming of sound government?
A lot of people supported Obama when it appeared as if he wasnt going to make the appointment. Where is the thread so they can complain about Obama now?

(45,319 posts)I did not comment on the issue at all, I saw many who wanted the appointment and others saying it was not a good idea. It is the 'not a good idea' people that got it wrong. Where is the thread where they explain their latest theory? I saw many saying it was lousy politics and all. Do they still think so?
I'm delighted he made the appointment. Always thought that he should. Many thought he should not. What do they say now?

(37,748 posts)I'll rarely see an apology from anyone who reads tea leaves-- regardless of whether they prognosticated in favor or opposition of this eventual action.
"I'm sorry-- I took a guess and I was wrong" is about as silly as "I'm smart-- I took a guess and I was right"

(82,849 posts)Credit where it's due, and I have to admit that it's one more than I thought he would make, so it's like infinitely times better than I expected. Any news on any other recess appointments to help the machinery of government actually get cranking again? Any other slots filled? I'm thinking specifically of federal judgeships that have been vacant for years (although the nation's loss is the California Supreme Court's gain), but there is no shortage of other appointed positions that are vacant and that hamper the ability of many agencies to carry out their mandate.
But Cordray! Well done indeed, sir.
