I'm not sure how to say this--- or even if it should be said at all. We---and I include all people

of integrity and good faith---seem to be having a protracted " deer in the headlights" moment.

We all KNOW damn well that Trump is a maniac and we all know that's not just a figure of speech. Without even attempting to recite all of his flaws, I am confident that I will not be contradicted when I say that he is the poorest excuse for a human being most of us have ever seen or heard of. He is the closest thing to a monster we will ever encounter.

We know that he is unfit to serve on our local city council or school board and we know that he has shown himself to be totally over his head as he lies and blusters and tweets his way through day after day of his "presidency".

We talk about all of this and we rightly criticize him and detail his corruption, his immorality, his mendacity and his hypocrisy. But, so far, no one has actually taken action to stop the "Trump train". Yes, I know that we have just elected a Democratic House and I have high hopes that Mr. Mueller will rip the the lid off this criminal and traitorous administration, but are we not honor-bound---believing what we believe, knowing what we know---to publicly voice our outrage; to get in the faces of the PTB and DEMAND that they amputate the cancer that is Trump from the body politic?

Democracy requires participants, not just observers. We face many challenges as citizens of planet earth. Right now, none demand more immediate attention than de-trumpifying our government.

"If only we had---" is not what any of us want to be saying here in 2020.

4. There is a growing urgency because of

Trumpís actions after the elections. Closing down the government shows he will do anything he pleases. Surely there is a faster way of dealing with him. His incompetence is dangerous to Democracy. Dangerous to the citizenry and to the world.

6. So what should we do? How do we get rid of this "thing?"

I agree with your premise, completely.

How do we start?

8. I have no special wisdom or "silver bullet" solution, but it seems to me that part of our

problem is that we are all aware that virtually nothing we---as individuals---might do is going to change anything. Boycotting, strikes, marching, sitting in, raising hell with my Republican Congressman, writing a letter to the editor about Trump's crimes and corruption, wearing my "Impeach Trump" tee shirt while shopping, being prepared with FACTS to counter any Deplorable crap comments---none of these actions done by me alone will change anything. BUT, if we all do some of these things this week and next week and the week after that---I have to believe that will be noticed and that minds will be changed and that the momentum of our national discourse will shift in our favor.

When good people fight, good people win. When good people sit on the sidelines tsk-tsking, they get their asses handed to them!

The third Women's March will be held in DC on the 19th of this month. We'll be coming from Illinois. There will be sister marches in many other major cities and this event is NOT just for women.

We can all do more than we're doing.

Thanks for your response.

7. I feel so helpless. I think we all do.

I just wish there was some way that we the people could stop this disaster of a president in his tracks. It honestly feels like we are standing in the way of a runaway train with no way to stop it. There is no other outcome but disaster without putting the brakes on him. And the republicans in power are going to do fuck all to stop him.
