My Take on Our 2020 Candidates:

First of all, BOTH Joe Biden (we share a birthday) and E. Warren are too old! As much as I appreciate both, we need the very best this trip. Therefore, my picks are:

POTUS: Tom Steyer

VEEP: Amy Klobuchar

Both are the perfect ages. Both are honor grads of Yale--Tom summa, and Amy magna. Both have prestigious graduate records at top notch schools (Stanford and Chicago). Tom is a self-made ACTUAL billionaire, whose record on Democratic and charitable causes is superb. Amy a terrific Senator who would step right in as President of the Senate. Both are "likable" (this COUNTS folks!). Nice geographical balance. This team would sweep the elections and win back the Senate (perfectly set-up and our turn!).

All inputs would be appreciated!

JoJo

1. Please, no more rich people without any government experience.

Steyer can continue his admirable efforts to promote liberal causes but I want someone who actually understands how government works from being in the middle of it because they've held a significant elected office, preferably either as a state governor or a member of congress.

5. I agree

If he wants to get into politics, run for Congress. Just because you've been successful in business doesn't mean you know dick about run a country.

15. Those are not rich people WITH NO GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE.

Politicians, rich or otherwise, by definition have government experience. Many are rich to some degree. None are without government experience.

4. No one is saying there's a perfect age, but I do not want someone

old enough to be on Medicare to be running for President.

There are far too many Democrats holding tightly to positions of power who are over 70, some of them much closer to 80 or even above that benchmark, and they are blocking the way for younger people to start getting experience and move up in power.

6. Doubt that Trump is or ever was a billionaire.

Steyer can lead perfectly well, it boils down to how well he picks people to help him, he would need to pick honest people who know how government works.

8. Trump's actual net worth is probably less than zero, but he advertised himself

as a successful billionaire businessman, as if that was a qualification for the presidency, which it isn't, even if it had been true. And what good is a president who doesn't know squat about government? How is he going to know whether he picks good people if he doesn't know shit about what he's picking them to do? No. No more businessmen, whether they're really rich or just pretend rich. That goes for Bloomberg, too, although he at least has experience as a mayor.

10. In hiring, there is a thing called looking at and verifying a resume.

Trump is simply a uninformed, stupid person who has bullied his way through his life.

You seem to assume that a true ethical billionaire (and there are a few) lives with his or her head stuck in the sand, those people actually know a lot more about government than most people because they or their assistants deal with government staff a lot, as well as deal with politicians and attornies. I invite you to try to get a new business zoned, or to expand, and then come back and say that true, ethical billionaires don't know how government works. Your position may cause some here on DU to jump up and down and say amen to what you write, but your premise is dead wrong.

14. I don't take his claims seriously.

Itís not verified. I donít think he will be in as good of a financial position as you do when he gets out, either.
