(8,514 posts)I'm a native Texan, and for decades, Texas was primarily a Democratic state. Even now, there are very strongly Democratic pockets in Texas. I come from one of them: Galveston County. In fact, it was two Galveston County residents that filed the suit against the voter ID laws in Texas. We are good people.

Incidentally, as you undoubtedly already know, Bush was not a native Texan but was from Connecticut.
