2. I don't get all the celebration over gas because in my area it's 30 cents higher than Jan 2017

All it did was skyrocket last summer and has now fallen back to where it was before the increase, not like it's lower than when he took office.

5. They will just shutter oil production and layoff oil field workers

At that low of a price it is not economically viable to produce oil from shale. ie North Dakota, etc.

8. Up in my world

it has dropped considerably. I have to use premium in my car and the price has dropped for premium by almost %0.70/gal in the past week.

16. It's $1.89 here

and the payback period on my hybrid car has stretched out considerably. When I bought it six years ago, I figured gas was going to be $5-6 a gallon.

I never could pick stocks, either, that's why my 401K (and now converted into a rollover IRA) has been in money market funds for nearly all of the last ten years since I started the account. In January, I went into one of those funds that was supposed to be balanced for a 2020 retirement (I actually retired in 2017) and I lost over a thousand dollars in it before I pulled the plug.

17. The last time gas was this low in MI was early 2009.

The start of the Great Recession.

Get ready folks, we are in for another ride.
