MSNBC just reported Orrin Hatch just came out against nuclear option. Lamar Alexander did too

As I posted in another thread

https://www.democraticunderground.com/100211575642

McConnell couldn't get enough GOP votes to change the rules, even if he wanted to, and his history on this shows he doesn't want to make this change.

1. I don't think he'd even get enough votes if the nuclear option was enacted.

I may be being too trusting, but I don't think McConnell will even consider it.

2. Can't see them doing that for this reason

especially with a Democratic controlled House coming.

3. I don't see anything in it for him.

Blow up the filibuster for a partial funding of a bullshit wall? I can;t see him doing it, given he knows there's a good chance of losing the Senate in 2 years.

5. With 2020 only two years away, I think he is savy to realize pay back is a real possibility if the

Democrats take both houses

9. Lamar....

We knew this was coming. Same shit, another day. "We are going to break all the rules, smash the good dishes, but we have to reign it in before the D's come, bc, we don't want THEM to do the same." sort of sentiment. We knew it was coming. The next shoe to drop will be the "we dont have money for what the dems want. What's your "pay-for" etc. No more of this crap. We need to take off the gloves and stamp...the...gop...OUT.
