We must work hard to tie the GOP tax cut legislation to the downfall of the ACA. The GOP

took out the individual mandate which has subjected the ACA to repeal. WE, DEMOCRATS, MUST GET BUSY RIGHT NOW AND TIE EVERY GOP IN CONGRESS AND THE SENATE TO THIS CRUEL LEGISLATION. The legislation not only gave unwarranted tax cuts tot he wealthy but it has resulted in this challenge to the ACA.

Or the government gets shut down. Because if ACA goes, there is no longer protections for pre-existing conditions, among many other things.

Or we quickly introduce universal health care. In another thread I suggested trading universal health care for funding for the wall.

Unless, there is a chance the SC will overturn the decision. Roberts will probably be the swing vote.

Need to provide more of a disincentive for people to avoid participating.

That was one of my disappointments with the mandate. The fines were much too low letting too many healthy people opt out. The fines need to be much closer to the cost of buying a policy

The idea is that if everyone has coverage, costs ultimately go down because unpaid medical care drastically goes down.

However, from a practical matter, I think we need something shirt term that makes this ruling go away. I suggested in another thread to increase the mandate to $1.

Then when we have the numbers, it needs to be substantially increased.

Even getting the $1 through is a long shot. Mid-terms are over. The repugs have no reason to care.
