5. Disgust is not a strong enough word to describe the Epstein child prostitution ring.

Is Ken Starr a player? I'd love to see him brought down.
When the RWNJs say there is a child abuse ring in the basement of a pizza parlor,
and this is sitting, for real, in their back yard---well it makes me sick.
Acosta is complicent in this, if not a BJ recipient. I have to ask myself,
"Where do these people come from? What makes anyone act like this?"

6. This stinks - both the child prostitution ring and as the Herald puts it

The Perversion of Justice surrounding Epstein, Acosta et al.

19. GOP directs attention away by pumping up stupid conspiracy theories.

Even when they are obviously bogus, the GOP get people talking about it and not about the huge wealth-wage inequality gap or other things.

To answer your last two questions, in the final analysis: greed and cold hearts.

7. Acosta's role in Epstein's ridiculous plea deal was KNOWN WHEN HE WAS SENATE CONFIRMED

The Repukes own him and his past acts in their entirety. The scandal is not just that he did this, it is that The GOP knew this about him and DID NOT CARE except to rush his confirmation before his past attracted too much national media attention.

9. Kind of tired of hearing about all the 'lawyers'

whose primary goal seems to be to subvert justice. These folks need to be sent to jail along with their clients...Dershowitz and Giuliani both come to mind pretty fast.

12. Agree

There are some folks who studied law for the loopholes.
That said there are many lawyers in my family.

Have you seen Manafort's Ostrich jacket?

We may hear something from Mr. Mueller tomorrow on Mr. Manafort's legal jeopardy. I'm in favor of "throwing the book" at this Russian mafia gangster.

13. What I want to know is why the trial Judge allowed the plea to go forward

in most states plea bargains must be approved by the sentencing judge. If the plea is illegal like this one was, why did the judge allow the plea to proceed. I understand at the time of the plea, Fla law required sexual assault victims to be notified and allowed to attend the sentencing of the defendant. Not notifying the victims and more outrageously agreeing not to prosecute any others who participated with Epstein's in sexually assaulting these young women is gross abuse of sentencing protocol. I know there is litigation to set aside Epstein's plea and that should be a no-brainer. I wonder what the judge got to look the other way.

14. It's a strange duck indeed.

There's no logic to any of it. Rotten to the core. Everyone involved should go to prison.

24. Given Epstein's Tremendous Wealth, There Was Likely a Quid Pro Quo Between Epstein & Acosta

Large amounts of cash changing hands would not be surprising.

29. Some of us want Acosta

to face a jury. His resignation is not enough but it would be a small necessary step toward justice.
