60. :) I love Trump's Gary Cohn lecturing the freshmen

on how to play the game. Did he not hear that only a minority of newbies ran in order to learn to play the game and cash in and that a majority would love to be assigned to the house committees that intend to make much of that illegal?

I, for one will wait and see if she can, you know, legislate.

48. She has already championed the Green New Deal.

Critical and timely legislation. Will the House leadership get behind it in preparation for 2020 when there's a chance of Democrats winning the presidency and the Senate?

She can only do one job in the caucus. The other 200+ members have to do theirs too.

65. And, if you look at the turnout

in her district in NY, she performed considerably worse than Crowley did in the 2014 midterms in terms of turnout during a "blue wave" year, where 2014 was a Red Wave in the Senate

2014 - Crowley got 147,600 votes to the Republican getting 30,00 votes.
2018 - AOC received approx 100,000 votes to the Republican getting 17,800, Crowley getting 8,500 for Working Families and others getting about 2K

The percent she beat the Republican by was about the same as Crowley, but she received a lot fewer votes overall.

My son goes to Capital Hill every year with his labor union to remind Congress working people still exist. When they had lunch in the cafeteria, no tax on the bill. He asked his Congressman about that, he acted clueless and said, MMMM, I'll look into that.

No Gary, YOU don't know what's coming - a revolutionary Congress that puts people over profits.

68. Right

It is foolish beyond belief to pretend that the many hundreds of millions of dollars corporations spend donating money to the campaigns of politicians (from both parties) has absolutely no effect on the positions those politicians take once in office, at least some of the time. If that were true than all that money might as well be flushed down the toilet if it really has no effect on policies. Who believes that the corporate class is willing to simply waste all that money with no firm indications that it is a wise investment for their own self interests?
