Don't talk to the FBI': Cohen client Sean Hannity instructs radio listeners to mistrust law enforcem

TRAVIS GETTYS
06 DEC 2018 AT 09:51 ET

Fox News host Sean Hannity told his radio audience that cooperating with FBI investigations was a bad idea.

Hannity, a fervent supporter of President Donald Trump and unofficial White House adviser, urged listeners not to believe findings by special counsel Robert Mueller, who secured a cooperation agreement last week with Trump Organization attorney Michael Cohen — who also represented the conservative broadcaster.

“I don’t think anything of what we’re hearing is true,” Hannity said, “because it just – none of it makes sense, but they get to jump the gun, because they want this all to – they want everybody to believe Donald Trump was colluding with the Russians.”

Trump attacked Cohen last week as “weak,” signaled he might pardon former campaign chairman Paul Manafort — who Mueller says violated his own cooperation agreement by lying — and praised GOP activist Roger Stone for vowing not to cooperate with the special counsel.

“If you’re like me, and you were – grew up to revere an FBI agent,” Hannity told listeners, “and the FBI comes to your house, and maybe some crime took place in the neighborhood, and maybe you have a little bit of information, but you don’t quite fully recall everything, but you’re pretty sure you do – the advice I have to give you now is, ‘Don’t talk to the FBI.’ How awful is that?”

1. Of course he would say that. He's guilty as sin.

Hannity is the worst possible representative of journalism we have in this country. He cannot tell the truth, because it would send him to prison.

4. My question is does or did Fox/Hannity have Russians and or Russian Agents working ...

.... inside their "brick and mortar" buildings in person or was the information coming
in via direct cyber links? I am betting that Russians were working inside Fox for a long time
now.

36 Indictments.
7 Guilty Pleas.
92+ Contacts. BTW what do all those contacts have in common? Trump and company
denied and or tried to hide everyone of them.

7. If you are a criminal and a liar like Lumpy is, then talking to the FBI *IS* not advisable.

And actually, in general, if you can afford to engage a lawyer before talking to the FBI about anything, you probably should. But even then, that isn't advice NOT to talk with the FBI, it is advice HOW to safely talk with the FBI.

The problem Lumpy has is that as a criminal and a liar, deep in his bones, he doesn't or can't or won't recognize out loud that all people are NOT in the same boat as him. For the most part, people are not in danger of either incriminating themselves or lying whilst talking to the FBI. But he is. And his friends and cronies are. He's rather blinkered re: how common/rare his position of long-standing and pervasive malfeasance is.

8. Let's see what happens when the FBI knocks on Hannity's door

Will he take his own advice?

14. I would be surprised if Hannity doesn't have an attorney on retainer

BUt then, so did Martha Stewart. She still managed to talk herself into jail, even though they never did prove the charge that instigated the interview.

9. Also

We should not believe the Department of Justice when they tell us Hannity was linked to a scheme to rig foreclosure auctions. He just happened to use the guy that went to jail for that. Nothing to see here.

12. Actually he has a point.

Generally speaking, if the FBI wants to talk to you, agree to talk, but direct them to your attorney.

While this is true with general police, its even more so with the FBI. ask Martha Stewart how an innocent conversation with the FBI can change your life.

COnversations with law enforcement have no upside. The best you can do is to stay free. However even innocent or mistaken untruths can put you in jail.

This guy explains it far better and more entertainingly .
