AOC Is Not Taking Any Prisoners Fighting For The Poor - FOX Is Hysterical

Last edited Mon Dec 3, 2018, 04:02 PM - Edit history (1)

Health care for everyone. Affordable college. Doing something about GLOBAL WARMING. My gawd, she wants to like do stuff besides making the wealthy more wealthy, and Fox is coming unglued.....

Fox thinks the only thing the government is supposed to do is give $$$$ to corporations who buy lobbyists.

Go for it AOC.

10. She is ringing in the new group of young voters...

and bringing out former non-voters...by being strong and unapologetic. Also, as Beto, another barnburner, brings them all in, showed that telling the progressive story does not need to be watered down. They are top of the class for young folk and progressives and returning voters.

Interesting that both have been criticized for their CLOTHES. That's because there's not much else to criticize. Small minds.

8. She is perfect for them.

They're making her into Fidel Castro. Fox's elderly shutins will gladly embrace her demonization.

She checks all their boxes:
1. Not white
2. "Mouthy"
3. Disrespectful of her elders
4. Coastal Urbanite
5. SOSHLYST!

9. I respect and agree with all of her positions

But I fear that she will get chewed up in the gristmill.

Good on her for being vocal and speaking the truth that needs to be heard. But others before her have been destroyed for being less progressive and less vocal.

Fox news viewers are already locked into a small, mean, and aging/dying off cabal. She's going for the rest...and doing quite well. She's smart. She'll learn quickly.

13. the demonization is propotional to the threat she represents.

she has years of politics before she's even old enough to run for POTUS. the RWNM identifies and launches long-term pre-emptive Ad Hominem attacks on Democrats with national potential: 30 years on HRC, 10 years on Sen. Warren.

they were late to the party on Obama, but sure got in the groove with the Birther Smear.

whatever it takes to get mud on a threat.

21. Her threat is right now.

OAC has that rare ability to control the narrative, that is why the right fears her and they are working hard, now, to slander her. Avenatti was another person who could control the narrative but he needs to dig out of his hole.
Al Franken could control the narrative and he was taken out, by the left and right I might add.

When I say control the narrative I'm not just talking about Fox, all of cable news and the corporate controlled M$M.

24. exactly, she has one of the most important skills

ability to control the narrative. Very few dems have that skill. She is refreshing, young and media pretty, fearless and unapologetic in her beliefs. Media like all those.

16. Exactly. But you don't have to go all the way to Fox to see that exact treatment.

Elderly shut-ins hate her for all those stated reasons. Especially number 3.

AOC pisses off conservatives.

17. I agree to an extent, but it hurts them that they are going to continue to give her actual

platform of issues more visibility, and then look like fools every time they try to tear them down. Pelosi and Clinton have had to be far more constrained with their specific advocacies, being big big big players in huge vote markets where there is a LOT of money that can swing elections. That has also meant that the right has characterized the two of them as the far left fringe, pushing everything beyond them off the map entirely, so that those issues weren't being talked about at all, which was WAY better for FOX.

Cortez is unfettered and can unabashedly champion these causes and make immoral or absurd, those who attempt to diminish them. So I'm not sure if they think they've found the perfect boogie woman or if she's just got a loud enough megaphone that they have decided they need to try to slaughter her while she's a pup, but generally speaking, the order is "first they ignore you..." "Then they laugh at you...." "then they fight you..."

My personal take is that the first option wasn't really on the table. Though it very well could be that as you say, they see her as an opportunity.

AOC has the ability to change the narrative and that is why Republicans and the right fear her. She has charisma, something that is hard to slander.

33. Keeping it simple, when AOC said, on tape, 'Abolish ICE',

'cons had no fear of an Abolish ICE 'narrative'. No fear of AOC. None. AOC tape was played hundreds of times by fox, so fox commentators could criticize or attach their version of 'horror' stories to her face. 'cons were so delighted, trump jumped on her case. trump, an unhappy man, seemed uncharacteristically very delighted to do his bit against her. 'cons were convinced AOC won votes for republicon candidates and put their money on her.

[Dems do the same, no fear, with trump. In the midterms, 'con candidates tried to run on 'local' issues, or attack Dem scapegoats. Dem attack ads against the 'cons ran - TRUMP-TRUMP-TRUMP!!!].

Those are political realities.

he was bashing - because it was a quite, useful opening for the midterm campaigns.

39. Don't think so. The 'cons fear losing 'con voters.

'cons can energize and get their 'con voters out to vote with 'Abolish Ice'/ ''Socialist'/ AOC,/ Bernie,/ anti- Pelosi, types -
'too radical' for many voters. Those types get a lot of fox publicity and fundraising for the 'cons. No way they would ignore those opportunities/opportunists.

This is still a center right country. That is why, when primary season fervors pass, candidates moderate towards the center in general elections. [In the last mid terms trump didn't moderate, just tried to get out more base, and paid the price].

America pays double, triple, 10 times more for health care but we can't afford single payer health care. Anyone see anything wrong with that statement? I just saw that our life expectancy went down for gawd's sake for 2017, that is unheard of.

Keep speaking the truth OAC.

34. She represents what they are scared of.

The country moving toward the left. The average of course is not at the level of AOC or Bernie Sanders...but the average is moving left of center and that type of political thinking is no longer an outlier. So long it was at the center, the GOP could maintain control without having to reform.

Ted Cruz having to fight as hard as he did to win is the canary in the coal mine. Sooner or later, were going to hear GOP politicians saying they are going to work for their constituents and won't be automatic "yes" votes.
