I saw Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor today!

Living here in South Florida (especially Broward County) has really really sucked lately....

But like a bright ray of sunshine Justice Sotomayor graced us with her presence at the Miami Book Fair and it was wonderful! She was brilliant, exciting, funny, warm - there are just not enough words. She was at the book fair promoting a new children's book she wrote called "Turning Pages", and when she finished speaking, she invited the children in the audience to come ask her questions - then gave them all hugs. Best day I've had in a looong time.

BTW she was interviewed by CSpan2 before her book fair lecture and it's going to be on at midnight tonight.

3. She's written 3 books. Her memoirs and two versions of that geared towards kids and middle schoolers

It is about grit.

5. I usually don't watch those Saturday night CNN shows, but for some reason I was drawn to it....

....what an amazing interview. She really has her head screwed on straight for a Supreme Court Justice. Just a down to earth, normal, and pleasant person to watch/listen to. Certainly no airs about her or attitude.

But then again, she's a working class native New Yorker (like me!), that's the way we are (little pat on the back there)

6. Yes. There is a danger when too many in a group have been breathing rarified

air for too long. It is downright henious not to have some grounding in real peoples. Look at what has happened to the Republican Party as an example. Sotomeyor has a great story and a decency missing in people like Scalia and his ilk. May Kavanaugh learn from it.

7. Don't count on that, Kavanaugh grew up a privileged, entitled little rich kid...

...who thinks the world owes him a living. No help for that guy.

10. Yep

Maybe (hoping) that Roberts leans our way sometimes. He is always thinking of legacy.
