Congressman-elect Max Rose on supporting Pelosi: "Absolutely Not"
I like him and I'm glad that he won, and I really do get that you have to sometimes move right to get elected in a red area, but he already won. Why go on Fox News? No reason to mingle with the enemy, nor put it that way. Fox is poison. In spite if this though, I think he'll be a good Congressman that keeps getting re-elected for years to come.

1. What Max Rose Can Teach Democrats About Beating Republicans
Max Rose became the first congressional Democrat to represent the Republican stronghold of Staten Island since 2008.

6. Oh, I do give him and other Blue Dog's a big break
But he could have just said no, not "absolutely not" in the enemy's territory (Fox).

15. And he could keep his mouth shut till he gets to DC
and figures out what's happening (more or less). If Pelosi wins the Speaker job, as seems likely, he will begin his tenure in Congress with less sway to represent the interests of his district. Shoot first and aim later has always been a stupid move.

18. Exactly
And it can't be too beneficial for him to piss off the future Speaker of the House.

7. He couldn't have been a little more diplomatic
in his answer? "Absolutely not"?
I hope some of these newbies don't think they're now rockstars. |

8. Campaigning and governing are very different
He doesn't need to vote for Pelosi as Speaker. But if he wants to move his agenda forward he'll need The Nancy because she *will* be Speaker.

9. Hope he's only saying that because of his repug district. He's got to learn...
that if Pelosi is anathema to repugs it means she's doing a good job.

11. So What? Nancy has Brilliant Experienced
members in her corner.. they know what she's capable of.. not the newbies who had to disown her to get elected. She doesn't give a rip.
And, I agree with you Polybius.. he probably went on foxscrews 'cause that's where a lot of his constituents get their "news". Amirite? Pelosi: I am on a mission MARGARET BRENNAN: But Speaker Pelosi, if you're Speaker, as you said you were confident you will be--

12. As long as he votes with Democrats, he can support whoever he wants for Speaker
And he can say whatever he needs to in order to keep his district behind him.
Besides, DU is way out of the mainstream when it comes to support for Pelosi (and I say that as someone who thinks she was a very effective Speaker). |

This is my new Congressman and I get the feeling he’ll be voting with the GOP most of the time to pander tp the republicans in the district.

does.I bet most of them would get it wrong.

19. It appears that many of the candidates endorsed by Seth Moulton and supported by his PAC
are being very vocal about not supporting Nancy Pelosi. This is an intentional effort to amplify the voices of the few in order to grow the number of anti-Pelosi Democrats. Not a fan of veterans with all the same mindset.

21. don't worry opp, the new congressman didn't name anyone 'better' & new Congress can...
as several D congresspersons said, "multitask ALL the issues at the same time".
