Two fucking days later and they realize it was a BLUE WAVE.

Screw off Carville and Tapper two idiots who stated over and over it wasnít a blue wave. Changing the narrative by spouting falsehoods.

Allowing trump cover through lies that he didnít have such a bad night.

Damn!!

1. Ari Melber did a great segment with lots of data supporting

the Blue Wave characterization. If you get a chance to catch a rerun or online clip it is worth a look.

53. May I interject? Here's another proof of a huge blue wave:

One hour ago I was talking to a political science major at Princeton and she was looking at lists of election data online. She said, essentially, that Dem enthusiasm was through the roof compared to that of the Republicans. Hereís what she found (this is based on a cursory glance and deserves a proper crunching):

Republicans winning with over 70% of the vote in a Red district: 12%
Democrats receiving over 70% of the vote in a blue district: 71%

Dems had, in effect, seven times the enthusiasm.

(Again, thatís based on a quick glance at the numbers.)

55. An anecdote supporting that--I'm in a very blue district and not only did

our rep get re-elected by >70%, we had record % turnout for a non-Presidential year--highest since the 1960s IIRC. And I'm in VA where we elect Governors in odd years (such as 2017), so there are even more years to beat than typical. We are among the states judged "difficult" to vote in because we don't have early voting other than absentee, etc. We had a few local issues but nothing out of the ordinary, so it would have been easy to understand if people stayed home.

So I think this means, if not enthusiasm--People wanted to send a message to Trump and his enablers.

2. Yep

Early Wednesday, I thought the Repubs would end up with 55 seats. Despite winning the House, that would have still made it a very mixed result.
Then Montana switched, now Arizona is looking good and who knows, maybe there is some chance for Florida. Having only one net loss is totally different. If that comes true, the Repubs won one seat in the Senate on a map stacked against the Dems and they lost the House. That is after they celebrated their big win.

3. I think a lot of people were concerned.

As I looked at that 538 odds model for the house on election night, I was quite anxious. The apparent losses in Florida coupled with loss in Indiana was something I found unsettling until more house wins came in.

59. Carville, who wrote "40 More Years" after President Obama's win

Mainly the book was based on how the Democratic Party would be in charge for the next 40 years. I saw his interview on MSNBC where he said that Beto needed to be a "winner" if he wanted to run for POTUS.

With all due respect to Mr. Carville, I thank him for his service and commitment to the party. It's time he steps aside and let the new generation take over-which means that I respectfully ask that he, along with any person in the party who's attempting to influence future strategy; step aside.

Beto demonstrated an uncanny ability to drive up numbers in RURAL areas, which is what we're going to need in the future. His "loss" which seeing how corrupt and morally bankrupt the GOP is; well let's say that I'm not sure Beto lost Texas, especially after looking at what's happening in Georgia and Florida.

Beto's "loss" was anything but, and Republicans know it.

As for someone running for POTUS after losing a Senate election, it's been done before.

1858 Abraham Lincoln lost a US Senate Election in Illinois, TWO YEARS LATER he became the 16th President of the United States!

Between 8 and 9 PM CST I was afraid this was 2016 all over again.

But then we started crushing the statewide races here in MN, took House seats MN-02 and MN-03, crushed the State House, taking 17 seats and flipping the State House https://www.minnpost.com/state-government/2018/11/where-the-dfl-made-its-gains-to-take-control-of-the-minnesota-house/

The cherry on the top was Scotty Walker going down. His presidential ambitions are down the tube. His only hope may be to latch on to someone else as a VP candidate.
