This Trump Investigation is More Like Nixon's Than Bill Clinton's

While the feeble minded will try to compare the Democratic oversight of the Trump administration to the Bill Clinton investigation, I say it is much more like the Watergate investigation under Nixon.

If Trump was the only person accused of anything, and that thing was just the Stormy Daniels pay-off, I would agree, it is like Clinton. But it's not. It's an investigation into the hacked emails of the DNC and other prominent Democrats, just like Watergate. There are already high profile men convicted of serious crimes connected directly to the Trump campaign, just like Watergate. There are obvious obstruction of justice crimes committed by Trump, just like Watergate. And, just like Watergate, Trump is already an unindicted co-conspirator (in the Cohen case).

So, when Trump supporters and apologists want to compare these times as analogous to Bill Clinton and you know how that turned out, please let them know that these times are more analogous to the Nixon years, and we all know how that turned out.

1. Yep, similar to Nixon, but on super steroids IMO. It's just so far reaching and entangled. Nixon

seems to me to have been a lot less complicated than this tRump mess on steroids.

2. I don't talk politics with Trump supporters

They are too far gone so logic, history, ethics and morality are alien to them. Since they live in an alternate reality, there's no common ground between us for conversation.

In fact, these investigations into Trump are worse than Watergate because this involves a foreign adversary who interfered in our elections. The web of crime surrounding Trump is far more nefarious and damaging to the country than the third-rate burglary at the core of the Watergate scandal.

Nixon got his just-desserts. President Clinton got his knuckles rightly rapped but his perjury didn't threaten the stability of the government. Trump is doing serious and possibly permanent damage to our nation.

3. Sometimes I talk to a Trump supporter while people without strong opinions are listening

and wiping the floor with the Trumper gains more converts from people who can be swayed who are listening in.
