Florida Democrats are fighting for Nelson, just got off a strategy call.

I am a volunteer with the Florida Democratic Party and was on a call this afternoon strategizing about Nelson's recount. There are an abnormally high amount of provisional ballots cast yesterday and the mailed in ballots are being rejected at a worrisome rate. We are fighting back, calling everyone who filled out a provisional ballot and voted Democratic and offering them rides to the Supervisor of Elections office if needed. If we don't get them after 2 attempts, we will be knocking on their doors.

I just wanted you to know that the party leaders think we have a fighting chance!

Sorry, I had to repost this from LBN

Good luck on this 5% endeavor (according to Predictit) but if Nelson hadn't ignored this race and allowed Rick Scott to define everything until late summer, the other side might be scrambling for a low percentage recount

With a unusually high Pat Buchanan tally in predominately Jewish-American precincts. It's amazing how seemingly small details can alter the course of history!

Who can forget those butterfly ballots. I think it was Florida 2000 that shook be out of my political complacency, as I didn't think anything so absurd could be possible. The whole thing was like political, over-the-top satire, something you'd see in the movies, but not in real life. At a different time in history, the movie Recount would have been considered satire.

Saw this on Predict It a few minutes ago. Don't know if it is accurate but it's the first time I've had a fraction of hope:

"There are only 2 counties with outstanding Mail In and Early Vote ballots.
In Broward county there are 84,358 MI and 89,095 EV outstanding.
In Palm Beach there are 156,471 MI outstanding.

Nelson won PB 51 - 42, and Broward 69 - 31.

At these same rates the 329,924 outstanding ballots bring Nelson to a lead of 0.75%"

And then prepare to sue like a motherfucker. Sick of Florida’s shit cycle after cycle. Put some fucking UN obsevers down there or something. They obviously don’t know how to run a clean, transparent election.

That's never happened before with me voting, ever.

Of course, it helped that I'm a white male living in an upper-middle class neighborhood, but who knows if there were issues at places where voters were deemed to be "suspect".

who were forced to file provisionally, especially in some parts of town with heavy minority demographics. On the how, I really don't know, I'm just a first time volunteer. I guess call the Florida Democratic party or Andrew Gillum or Bill Nelson's offices.

The vote difference has to be no more than .5%. Nelson was at .4% Tues. night so automatically was put in for a recount tomorrow, that's why I was mobilized today. I heard that Gillum now has also met that threshhold, so he will be included. The Secty of Agriculture is also close, but not sure if she's met it yet.

on Tuesday, I was a little bit discouraged and now I realize why. I figured Democrats would just cave again after overwhelming evidence of voter suppression and disenfranchisement. We've seen it every election since 2000 and it appears to not have gotten better.

If we don't fight back, they will just keep doing it and we'll end up with a permanent minority rule in the United States.

Kudos to those who won't give up!

I was so depressed Tues. night and Wed. am, but then I got the call from the Fl Dems District Manager saying we are fighting this for Nelson (and later Gillum was added), for the first time ever. Palm Beach is dysfunctional by design, their SOE was appointed by Jeb because she's a disaster and has continued on in that manner. I hope Gillum appoints a new SOE after he takes office

Stupid Scott saying he's suing to stop the counting, what an ass. He thinks he's bought this election just like he's done in the past but this time the people of the state are standing up to ensure their votes are counted and he wants to disenfranchise the people in Broward and Palm Beach for his own greedy power desires.

unprecedented mid-term turnout for Dems, plus the incredible enthusiasm, we would see a blue tsunami. I had underestimated the amount of blatant voter suppression and possible fraud that would take place. If we don't crack down on it now, it will happen over and over again. Its not like the republicans even try to pretend they aren't cheating. Kemp was so in-your-face about the crap he was pulling, as if he was daring us to do something.

Every election we hear these nightmare stories about the polls and no one gets held accountable, no one goes to jail. That fool Ken Blackwell had the nerve to go on and run for governor and even shows up on cable news from time to time, as if nothing happened in Ohio in 2004. I think their attitude is "Don't worry, the Democrats will just roll over and play dead yet again."

Interfering with our elections should be considered a serious crime just short of murder and the consequences should be severe.
