Eww, but we will still have two more years of him no matter who gets the House or Senate. (Original Post) SummerSnow Nov 2018 OP

I'm surprised it hasn't already done so.

or removal after impeachment, or resignation, we still have Pence for the remaining time. And if Pence takes over after January 20, 2019, he is permitted to run for the office twice. My theory is that anyone after Trump will look "normal" to the American people, no matter which party they're from.

The country is now firmly entrenched in two factions. Elections will not fix it because we will keep getting repeats of the last 2-4 elections. Something has to give, but I don't know how.

There are still executive orders, which will ultimately be decided by a SCOTUS that is balanced against us, and it looks like the Senate will be able to confirm Trump's nominations for at least the next two years.

He will be nearly as enabled to do bad things as he has been so far.

And that's a problem, for sure. But we'll be better off than we were. We'll have oversight for one thing, and I expect interesting things to come from that.

Even so, not getting the moon today is no reason to write if off as a failure. We're scaring the shit out of them at least.

And also remember they are literally a dying breed. History will be on our side. If it doesn't all happen this year, we'll get there!

We don't know what Mueller has turned up or what the Democrats would find if they had subpoena power.

His stupid rallies are all he needs. I doubt anyone could beat him at this point, despite his apparent unpopularity. I think in the privacy of the voting booth, they will vote for him and maybe lie about it.

UNLESS, things get so bad, people finally open their eyes. But I think things will be just good enough economically that people will overlook his monstrousness.
