3. Indiana and Kentucky already had polls close/results coming in the past hour

have seen them tabulated at NYT election tracker. Everywhere else the polls were still open.

As in, they would find themselves unable to speak the words, or something else?

25. It has something of a history

There had been periodic controversies over whether early reporting of, say, the presidential election result has the effect of depressing voter turnout in western states, and thus affecting down-ballot races, even if the presidential election is a foregone conclusion.

Hence, the major networks voluntarily decided not to do so, but it is purely voluntary.

23. Both Kentucky and Indiana polls close at 6pm eastern

Part of their states are not in the same time zone but close at same time. Which is 7 pm in their little chunks of the state.

27. We ain't winning them all.

A Democratic majority has never been assured.

All we can do is vote and get our neighbors to vote.
