1. The Pentagon would just change the codes.
Anyhow, he doesn't even carry it; there's a military officer who travels with him that has physical control over it. Trump can't even fold up an umbrella.

6. The president doesn't carry the "football."
A military officer has charge of it. If it fell into the wrong hands somehow, the Pentagon would just change the codes.

7. I am sure that they would suspend the codes in that case.
The president does not usually carry the "football" alone anyway. Usually a military personnel will be with him. We will likely know where he is headed before he gets there. It would be a MAJOR scandal and serious international incident, but he would not likely be able to give access to our nuclear weapons to Russia, especially if we knew he was fleeing.

20. It's kind of a funny image.
As if Trump could grab the nuclear football and somehow outrun dozens of highly athletic Secret Service agents. The dude can't even walk a hole of golf without getting on his golf cart.

22. They're not literal codes that anybody can use to launch a strike...
it's more like a protocol to verify an unbroken chain of command from the top. It's not automatic as in computerized -- the process goes by way of multiple people. If Trump flees he could still conceivably call in his codes to verify his identity for a command, but then it wouldn't really matter as he's a fled traitor and the order would be ignored.

30. Normally such a ridiculous idea
Would Merit a sarcastic reply
However I will not because it is comedic gold for a video short. The great Trump Escape Opening scene is Trump in the motorcade complaining he needs to use the bathroom and they pull up to a 7-Eleven. He jumps out of the limo and scoots into the bathroom having grab the football before anybody can realize it. Next scene is the Secret Service standing guard outside the door asking if everything is okay. Swipe to Interior shot of trump squeezing his ass outside of the window in the back with a plane ticket to Moscow clutched in his teeth. Final scene is Trump running down the alley clutching the football in both hands, toupee flapping, screaming for a taxi to take him to the airport. Behind him is a mass of Secret Service agents chasing him like the Keystone Cops. Final cut back to the limo with a befuddled military officer holding the actual football and asking a secret service agent why the president ran off with his lunch. |
