notice his taxes are no longer the subject of the conversation? Notice how he is throwing out all these remarks about obama and getting his remarks talked about? Notice how he is taking control of the media conversation?
----Mitt Romney leveled his harshest criticism of President Obama's reelection campaign to date in Ohio Tuesday, declaring that Obama should "take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago."----
there will be an unceasing barrage of these kinds of remarks because they work. Underestimate him at your own risk while you are already celebrating Obama's reelection.

...no. Even Bain is still going.

(28,158 posts)Obama runs a much better campaign than that.
This is just the beginning of two-on-two play.
A bit more patience is in order, in my opinion.
Remember back in 2008? He managed just fine, and even though Palin was an idiot, it took a bit for his folks to make that point and get things back on track.
We're actually in a better position in a lot of ways this time. Many people in the media, and some voters, already don't like Ryan on a national level.

(27,787 posts)Obama's campaign will spend some time between now and the RNC convention defining Ryan, the zombie-eyed granny starver, and using that to tie Romney to the GOP House, which has an approval rating just below Chlamydia.
The the GOP will hold their convention, which will be a circus of stupid.
And then, Obama, Biden, and the Dems will unleash Hell. Bain, Romney's taxes, Bush, Iran, women's rights ... its going to be "shock and awe".
Meanwhile Romney ... who survived all of the "not-Romney" candidates will try to win by being the "not-Obama" candidate.
And the Irony of that will totally escape him.

(20,135 posts)The tax-return talk is quieter now, but for a good reason. Right now the Obama campaign is focusing on defining Paul Ryan in the public eye, because they need to do that ASAP. It's working. Romney is being called out and forced to answer whether he supports this or that right-wing policy in Ryan's budget proposal. He continues to fuck up.
In a week or two after the "hype" has died down, the focus will once again return to Romney and his taxes,

(14,075 posts)McCain announced Palin the night after Obama's convention speech to steal the media thunder. It was a very effective tactic - for the short term. Romney now has an Ayn-Rand-idiot as a running mate. I'm not sure all the Koch brothers money can make that work.

(8,571 posts)hope the issue of his taxes and Bain have gone away, and they can just fluff their way through the election without any REAL policies, or Policies that are too extreme even for most of the American public. They underestimate President Obama, his supporters, independents, and sane Republicans at their own peril.

Well, better put that campaign issue aside...
Ryan VP pick can't derail Romney tax return questions
Jennicut
(25,415 posts)You have to attack his policy positions (or lack thereof) and his pick as VP. Picking a VP is always the first major decision a candidate makes. It shows a lot about that candidate. Romney chose to let others decide for him and let the RW of the party make his decisions. If anything, it is even better then the tax issue. This is about what the Repubs really think of the American people and what they really want to do if they win the Presidency. Obama is doing a good job attacking Romney's choice of Ryan already and attacking his crappy proposals. Romney is running away from Ryan's views and yet he picked him as VP. It has been entertaining to watch Romney scramble.
