Now stop amplifying his lies by repeating what said/tweeted verbatim.

I’d like to see/hear something like “Trump told 12 lies in the last week about a “caravan” of people walking across Southern Mexico.”

“Trump repeatedly exaggerated the number of people, made unsubstantiated claims that Middle Eastern terrorists were included in in the group.”

“Trump also claimed that he would order the military to stop the invasion. However calling it an invasion is not accurate when talking about unarmed civilians and it isn’t clear that the military could be used this way legally, due to the Posse Comitatus Act, that limits using the military for domestic law enforcement.”

Colin Powell who helped lie us into the Iraq war and who lied to the world at the UN----was a 4 start General.

Generals have been all in to fight wars to protect American corporations whenever needed, at least since Viet Nam.

The only reliable honor in the armed forces is in the common soldier, who has no power and is just fodder.

The UCMJ (the Uniformed Code of Military Justice) governs all actions by those in uniform from the newest E-1 to the longest serving general or admiral. It is our obligation and responsibility to refuse to follow any unlawful order. And that starts defending the Constitution of the United States, not the platform/doctrine/ideology of the GOP.

Cheney and the neocons (and probably Bush) knew Colin Powell would be persuasive if he testified, and they knew he would not lie. So they spent a lot of time and energy pulling "evidence" together to convince him that he was telling the truth then.

There's plenty of evidence he eventually realized he'd been lied to. Not sure he should be held culpable, or only somewhat.

Remember Cheney set up rogue intelligence operatives to go around the CIA and use cherry-picked facts to persuade Americans that Sadaam Hussein was rebuilding WMD and that he was behind 9-11.

all the Trump lies and crimes -- accumulating them.

Trump gets away with this is by:

1. Never truly facing the Press in a real question and answer session without helicopter noise drowning out the question.

2. Throwing a new ball up in the air to make people forget the one thrown an hour ago.

By scrolling constantly people won't forget.

CNN and MSNBC are no different than Fox in airing right wing talking points. CNN and MSNBC may very well put a progressive slant on the talking points or even refute them, but they are still airing them.

I don't have to watch Fox to see Trump's rallies, CNN and MSNBC show the highlights.

With that said, at times there are cable news hosts who stray from the right wing narratives, Nicole Wallace, Chris Hayes, Rachel, Don Lemon, and yes even Shep Smith at times.

It's going to get worse leading up to the election.

Trump may have read this, from the mind of a genocidal maniac...or, maybe he's just cut from the same cloth and happened upon the principle himself.

...in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods.

It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.

I'm on a trip and CNN is my immediate choice every night when I return from sightseeing. At home in Miami I click back and forth but during this trip I never give MSNBC a second thought. CNN methodically defines and destroys Trump every hour.

Similarly, I have to laugh at anyone who condemns NPR. It took me 1900+ miles to drive up here to Boston due to some weaving around. I don't know how I would have made it without NPR. It is great that they are always on the same narrow range on the FM dial...the 88 to 91.5 area. As soon as one NPR station fades I can quickly find the next one. The other day they had a lengthy segment with the New York Times reporters who spent a full year secluded in a separate room working on the Trump financial history. Great segment, better than any version I've heard elsewhere.

BTW, the local Massachusetts debates are terrific. Extremely feisty. I listen to them on local NPR while returning to Cape Cod every evening. That secretary of state debate was fantastic, other than limited to only a half hour. Great name calling from both sides.
