Has there been any wonderment about the timing of this...

... caravan of migrants? It couldn't be better for Trump. Just coincidence????? I can't think of a way that he could have engineered anything. But I just keep wondering.

2. It seems to be a matter of seasonal weather.

Crossing Mexico and the deserts of the American SW in the heat of summer isn't a good idea.

The refugees are trying to save their lives and those of their children. They aren't worried about the effect on US elections. It's just bad timing.

It's been going on for 15 years.

And they are nowhere near the US border - and will be nowhere near them by election day. But Trump needed blood to pour in the water to gather his sharks.

... why is the media just now covering it? Why don't they say that? (See an earlier reply in this thread for the 15 year info).

Depending on how this goes down at the border it isn't good to look good for Trump in any way, to the masses. I don't see how the optics are going to work for him. The optics are already failing. He has demanded other countries stop them and they haven't. Art of the fail number one. Then there might be a military confrontation with them. Do we really know their level of desperation. I don't think we do. The possibilities here are not known and there are a lot of them.

such a thing for a political reason. The real reason is enough. People are impoverished, threatened and looking for a safe haven.

That's the only reason people would choose to walk for weeks to get somewhere.

This was not planned by anyone here.

15. A similar thing got coverage last year.

The issue with the children being taken from their parents is another example.

This migration is getting coverage, in part, because Trump is making a big deal about it. That and 7000 people walking toward the United State, a journey that will take a couple of months. It's a big freaking deal.

The migration is constant. Once in a while, it's more organized. But people are migrating all the time.

Still, there's no way such a spontaneous thing could be staged by anyone in the United States. It just doesn't work that way.

A beautiful area, trees, mountains, water, work.
In the old days, about 1980 through 2000, there were quite a few
crossers. I saw them on my own land often, and gave them water and food.
I employed a few of the guys to help me lay block on my home.
I never once felt threatened. They were on their way to Tucson or
Phoenix to seek work.
There are nearly none now.
The "caravans" may be 15 years old, but the people have been crossing
for many years.
