Rumor: Colin Kaepernick may get signed by the Jaguars

https://www.google.com/amp/amp.si.com/nfl/2018/10/21/jaguars-blake-bortles-tom-coughlin-doug-marrone

This is an article from Sports Illustrated. The Islamic owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars commented before the start of last year's regular season that he would be open to signing Kaepernick if his starter faltered that year. Fast forward to this afternoon when the jaguars lost to the Houston Texans, the Jaguars benched their quarterback Blake Bortles for Case Keenum opening an interesting question mark for the next week. The Jaguars might be needing someone who runs well and doesn't throw interceptions. Kaepernick does both. In fact Kaepernick has the 2nd lowest interception rate in league history. So the question might be why not the Jaguars give Kaepernick a chance?

I say that they should try it out and sign him at least to be their backup. This would allow the team to give Bortles a 2nd chance while Kaepernick learns the system. This would also be a huge PR boost to the NFL and a huge rebuke to the sitting occupant of the Oval Office who famously called Kaepernick a "son of a bitch" at a rally in September of 2017.

He also criticized Trump over the Muslim ban and the issue of taking a knee. In addition he called most of the other owners in the NFL racists after they slow-walked making him owner of the team and the general tone of the ir comments on race. It is to say that he would be joining in with Kaepernick to give 45 a giant FU.

To be honest, the NFL doesn't deserve his time or energy.

But Jacksonville is a city with a strong military presence. And Jaguars owner Shad Khan was among a group of NFL owners who donated $1 million to President Donald Trump’s inaugural committee. If Kaepernick is to ever play in the NFL again, it’s difficult to see him landing in Jacksonville
