I have no doubt the experience has been embarrassing for him but he'll live and he'll probably keep his seat on the D.C. Circuit (I'd be surprised if there were any serious effort to remove him despite his testimony before the SJC). And "the most qualified nominee ever"? Where did they get that nonsense? He's never even tried a case; he spent most of his pre-judicial career as a GOP operative in the Bush administration, working with the likes of Karl Rove and John "Torture Memo" Yoo.

(82,849 posts)They're no surer about the vote than we are. Of course Team Kreepazoid is talking up their game, trying to persuade people that their efforts are pointless. But if they had the vote locked down to put Kreepazoid on the high court, they'd be sitting back quietly purring about the majesty of the Court and the sacred constitutional duty of the Senate. The fact that they're out there yammering, and whining, and lashing out at reporters and protesters tells me that this is about as sure a thing as predicting who's going to win the Super Bowl.
