The Dem candidate for Congress in my district spends more time

attacking Dems than attacking the GOP. Not sure I can support this guy. What is really making it difficult is that our republican representative has voted more with the Dems than the GOP. He voted against the tax cut and the repeals of the ACA. I really donít know what to do.

1. Vote for the Dem. There is more than two issues at stake.

I learned in college to NEVER trust a republican.

As far as attacking democrats, Bernie does it often and there are some here on DU that think a lot of him.

Focus on what the Dem is saying, is he giving legitimate criticism?

BTW, what state and region of the state are you in?

4. I'm in NYC

And bringing up Sanders doesnít work with me. I voted for Sanders and fel betrayed afterwards. Iíll vote for him ever again and he needs to shut up and go away.

As for the Dem running in my district, he is not making any legitimate criticisms, just very general attacks. He sounds more like a right wing republican than a Dem.

7. Sometimes they are wearing the wrong hat.

They file as a dem because they think that is the best way to win.

2. Challenge the Dem, ask questions about these votes.

And then vote for him. We need majority, not purity.

3. Not looking for purity

but donít like how he is attacking Dems so much. Makes me think he is pandering to the republicans in the district.

5. Does the district vote republican normally?

If it does, I can see his predicament. My guess, if the Dem was in office, he would have voted the very same way the repug did on the two issues that you mentioned. But he likely would have also voted with Dems against the society damaging legislation that the repug voted. Look, I appreciate your passion, but please hold your nose and vote for the Dem. Once he gets in office, write him a note telling him about how you felt about him attacking Dems and how you think that he should talk about intra party policy differences.

6. Yes it does.

The last time we had a Dem was 09-10 and he always voted with the GOP. He voted against the Stimulus and the ACA. That's is what I'm worried about. If the Dem running is already pandering to republicans, what will he do when he is in office.

8. Unless s/he is LITERALLY corrupt - This year vote for any Democrat...

A powerful message must be sent during these midterms. On the Meta level the Republican Party must suffer a withering defeat this year. We need to flip as many seats as possible, the numbers count beyond simply winning a majority of Congress. We need landslide results.
