Has anyone asked Georgetown Prep for a statement?
I haven't seen anything about this. Obviously there's only so much they can say, but I'd think someone would have asked them for a comment.

4. Some journalists who went there must be torn
Doubtless would know where all the skeletons are. Doubtless would know who to call to talk to. Doubtless would know women from private schools who could point them to more victims
But what happens at Georgetown Prep... |

5. I love it
As someone who went to an elite Catholic high school, I love seeing these self-satisfied Catholic administrators being embarrassed by what everyone knows goes on at these schools. They knew they weren't saints, yet they continue to tout their "reputation". Fuck them and every other phony holy roller school.

7. Why is the catholic establishment filled with so much sexual abuse and subsequent cover ups?
The church, the schools, the organizations. What is it about catholic men that makes them so willing to sexually abuse those who are weaker and less powerful than them?

12. Several reasons.
They are taught that their religion is the only true religion. They are brought up in authoritarian homes and the religion is authoritarian and patriarchal. Remember - it wasn't until recently that women were allowed to be on the altar during services or have their heads uncovered. They are brainwashed at a very early age that sex is bad and dirty and don't touch yourself and if you do, well you better report it in the confessional. It's a repressive religion to say the least.

19. And they're taught priests are a special class
In Catholic grammar school we were taught that the sacrament of Holy Orders (by which Catholic priests are ordained) elevates priests to a higher level than us mere mortals, something akin to Jesus Christ, making them almost godlike. (I wish I were making this up!). It's a very hierarchical religion, and despite modest reforms in the last few decades, still not very pro-woman.

8. This is how Georgetown Prep deals with charges of sexual misconduct
Montgomery County police have charged a former priest with inappropriately touching students at Georgetown Preparatory School, the prestigious North Bethesda institution where he taught from 1989 to 2003. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/ex-priest-charged-with-sex-abuse-of-georgetown-prep-students/2011/02/02/ABT76yQ_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.ba291b0b5e42 A former priest was sentenced to five years of supervised probation Thursday for fondling two students at Georgetown Preparatory School, where he taught from 1989 to 2003…“The headmaster dismissed the allegations as untrue, and the matter was not reported to the Montgomery County Police Department for seven months.” https://americasurvival.org/2018/09/sex-abuse-scandal-at-judge-kavanaughs-georgetown-prep-catholic-high-school.html Clearly, the idea of hiding sexual misconduct comes from the Church first. When you protect pedo priests it sends a message to the boys. In fact, I am surprised the Church hasn't weighed in on their darling Kavanaugh. The organisation that created the Magdalene Laundries still treats women like subhumans. |

10. I just scanned through that and got to the part about Ward
Sounds like another college that I heard tales of from a former co-worker. Elder frat boys gave freshman X amount of cash, reserved a hotel for them, and sent them to Mexico on spring break...with a list. Here's what we want - mostly bulk orders of drugs that had already been prearranged from what I gathered.
Weekends were parties in cabins that only people of a certain means are party to. Thy basically had them catered with everything they might want (including bar tenders who clearly were serving underage college students) all on the parents' dime. And the parents knew full well. My coworker was not of that world but ended up there. His first day there he and his high school buddy thought they were set - they had a couch, a tv, and a fridge. In came the private school kids with there designers and contractors with lumber. The dorm rooms were so big they could construct separate living spaces and reengineer the set up. |

13. My alma mater, Chico State, did it on the cheap and held the keegers in the almond orchards
Plenty of parking, and only a few trees got tagged; the trees mostly winning.
The Frat boys had a sweetheart deal with the beer distributor; they had a key to the joint and just went in and took what they needed and noted it on a clipboard. Back in the day, the honor system was a big deal. Hundred keg blowouts were not uncommon, especially during Pioneer week (sadly, also finals week). After being labeled as '#1 party school' by Playboy Magazine, the powers that be put the kibosh on the whole thing. Times Have Been Better. Had you ever heard of Bernie Ward before? He was a HUGE liberal voice on the West Coast until his demise. Sad, really sad and sordid story. |

While he was with Boxer he uncovered a lot of dirt on military misappropriations and gained a lot of enemies.
Never, ever get him started on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, his seminal research work. |
