Regardless the Wingnut Propaganda: Obama is the •smallest• gov't spender since Eisenhower

...from that "left wing rag", FORBES:

Who Is The Smallest Government Spender Since Eisenhower? Would You Believe It's Barack Obama?
It’s enough to make even the most ardent Obama cynic scratch his head in confusion.

Amidst all the cries of Barack Obama being the most prolific big government spender the nation has ever suffered, Marketwatch is reporting that our president has actually been tighter with a buck than any United States president since Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Who knew?

Check out the chart –

Even when there is a massive recession and government spending is needed to help the economy?

Or wait... are you now going to say that it is because the Republicans are not allowing the Dems to spend govt. money...?

But no, you wouldn't say that because that would be contradicting the whole message that you're trying to send...

It's all so confusing.

that Obama is a "big spender".

He isn't.

If you're reading anything else into this OP from *me* (rather than the author of the article in the OP), you'll find nothing there, unless you want to make stuff up. If so, be my guest.

My point was to clarify that this is NOT something that we should necessarily cheer.

Boasting about shrinking the size of the govt. is falling into a Republican trap --similar to proving that you are strong on defense.

The trap of course, is that in order to deny the things the Republicans accuse us of, we have a lot of people on our side that wind up defending Republican principles and bashing our own.
