The declining quality of life in America

At one time, I thought the quality of life in America was pretty good compared to most of the rest of the world.

Most of us could work at decent jobs. Most of us could afford to rent or own a place to live. Most of us could afford to go grocery shopping for our needs. Many of us could afford a car, new, used, or whatever. Most of us didn't pay too much attention to whether Dems or Republicans were running things. Most of us we're fairly content with our lives and striving to make life better for ourselves, our families. Most of us didn't try to screw our friends, our acquaintances, or anyone else.

But today, it seems that the Republican Party is doing everything possible to fuck up the quality of American life for most of us. Actually, this has been the fantasy of the Republican Party for the past four or five decades. It's been their dream -- and our nightmare -- that was driven by their greed, lack of empathy, and a "fuck everyone but me" mindset. Most of us didn't understand it. And most of us didn't grasp the reality that Republicans don't believe in the same things the rest of us believe in. Their "family values," "Jesus," "super patriotism" memes were always bullshit that they spread for the fundies and anyone else ignorant enough to buy it.

Then, along came Donald Trump and their dream (our nightmare) became reality. They dropped their masks and showed us all what horrible creatures they really are. They are terrifying, people who don't give a fuck whether anyone lives or dies, as long as they've got theirs. They are Pure - Fucking - Evil.

The quality of American life, for the average person, has been trending downward. And the reason is obvious. It's due to the, so called "policies" of the Republican Party. Which makes them our enemies. And it also makes them people who must, MUST, be defeated in the next election if any of us hope to ever again have a reasonable quality of life for ourselves and our loved ones.

I just interviewed a new dog sitter, girl 29. Hired her for Thanksgiving weekend. She lives with two male roommates is going to school part time and working. Doesn’t feel she will be able to have a place on her own in a liberal area.

Her goal is to live in Germany, she may change her mind the grass is always greener but it shows America is struggling.

Elected Repugs aren't people, they are representatives of the oligarchs and that money & power for themselves & the oligarchs is all they care about. They claim to care about deficits, a LIE proven by their catastrophic tax cuts for ultra rich, they claim to care about American jobs, but send all their business overseas, they claim to care about killing fetuses, then kidnap, cage & torture Hispanic children that are lucky enough to keep their lives or not be assaulted in an unsecured, unsafe environment. They think rape is perfectly ok as long as the rapist is white & rich. Worst part is they are just gearing up - things they want to do soon -
Abolish free education
End all labor laws, including overtime & child labor laws
End all environment laws, including Clear Air & Clean Water acts
End every business regulation
Abolish ability for unmarried women to get birth control or an abortion (again unless they are rich & white & then they get what they want)
End all government assistance with healthcare including ACA, Medicaid, Medicare & SS by privatizing & voucherizing them at significantly lower $$, with no rules about actual coverage by insurance co & cut that dramatically until it's ended. The rich get more tax cuts so they steal that money from the people that worked hard & earned it
Stage a Reichstagg Fire, suspend the constitution, eventually reinstate it but with changes - such as - only allow people who own property and who have passports to vote and only after age 25 (when most graduate from college & start settling down)
End free press
Fire all liberal judges and supplant them with repug hacks

If only Ronald Reagan had just stuck to doing what he did best, which was playing second fiddle to a baby chimpanzee in black and white movies. He was the beginning of the end.

7. He was an amiable imbecile who wasn't really in charge

His "aides," cabinet members, etc., were the people who were really running things and fucking up America. They were no different from those who are actually calling the shots for our current imbecile in chief. These are horrible human beings who are out for their own well-being, profit, and control. And their attitude concerning the rest of America and Americans is "fuck 'em."

Take a look at those in the Republican House and Senate. Would you trust any of them with your well being? I wouldn't trust them to walk a dog and bring it back alive.

When will voters ever learn that the Republican Party is a criminal enterprise out for themselves and only themselves. And if they can make even one dollar off of fucking you, they'll do it in a heartbeat. This is who they are. This is what they are.

8. It all began with Reagan and his 'trickle down' theory

Ever since then, we've seen a steady migration of wealth from the shrinking middle class up to the top 5%. The problem isn't completely due to policy though, a fair amount of it is related to automation and increased competition in the workplace. Now we have a society with an unprecedented amount of 20-30 year olds still living at home because they work and still can't afford to move out. The birth rate is falling because people can't afford kids. Who can actually afford a new car anymore, or to buy a home? We're rapidly becoming a society where half of the population cannot afford to 'participate' properly in society and live a proper life.
