The Seattle Storm have not received an invitation from President Donald Trump to visit the White House. The new WNBA champs have no interest in going even if one is extended.
Seattle clinched the third championship in franchise history Tuesday night with a win over the Washington Mystics. Veteran point guard Sue Bird said Friday the team is not expecting an invitation from Trump and would decline to visit anyway.
"At this point, it doesn't even really need to be discussed," Bird said. "It's come up. We paid attention to what happened with Minnesota not getting invited. Everyone knew when everything happened with Steph Curry and LeBron (James) on social media, all that stuff. We all pay attention and we watch. I'm sure (the president) is going to say we're not invited anyway," Bird told KING5 on Thursday, "so it all works out well."
The Minnesota Lynx did not receive a White House invite after winning the WNBA title in 2017.

(9,350 posts)I will continue to say what I have said before. If invited they should accept the invitation. Being invited to the White House gives the an opportunity that is given to few people. I know it is likely that Trump will not be changed by engagement, but the still have the opportunity and I think they should use that chance.
On the other hand this White House has been very disrespectful to female athletes in that very few, if any, have been invited to the White House. This White House should start inviting female champions.

Shall we take a little look and see?
Washington State: Clinton-54.4% Trump-38.2%
King County: Clinton: 72.1% Trump-21.7%
In the City of Seattle, Trump received 8% of the vote. Clinton won every single voting district in Seattle.
Oh and btw, The Women's March in Seattle, organizers say that 175,000 hit the streets to protest his orange ass!
Hey, BLOTUS! Stay the hell away from Washington. We hate you more every single day!
