Did The Weather Channel fake this shot?

The Weather Channel voiced support for one of its reporters on Friday after a video of him reporting during Hurricane Florence went viral online.

The video clip posted to Twitter appeared to mock the reporter's hurricane coverage, suggesting he was exaggerating the storm's force. The video shows longtime Weather Channel meteorologist and reporter Mike Seidel as he tried to gain his footing as the storm's winds bore down on him.

"This is about as nasty as its been," Seidel, who was reporting from Wilmington, N.C., says in the clip while bracing against the wind.

The camera then shows a pair of figures casually walking on a road behind the reporter.

4. Is it true that the wind isn't the major factor in this storm?

It's heavy and slow moving, but it's going to sit in one place and dump a tremendous amount of water causing flooding and surges. Usually, hurricanes move and burn out quickly doing the most damage in a matter of a few hours, but this one is just swirling in place for a couple of days raining raining raining.

11. That's true. Not too many years ago a hurricane caused a big flood in that area.

I knew some folks in Kingston, NC, that lost a lot in the floods. Good point.

And, of course, Katrina’s destruction was due to flooding.

And I wouldn't put it past them to not say much about a reporter to faking it for a live shot.

It actually inspired me to become a meteorologist. I use to watch the channel before they changed their entire structure to crap reality.
