1. "...of how dishonest and full of shit they are."

Steve for the win.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

24. She's a staunch Republican , never was anything else. She lies.

She really just wants to get along with “the guys”.
And she loves having them court her for her vote.
Playing games, flirting, soaking up attention.
Dishonest.

31. Wordsmith? LOL! Let's settle for pulls no punches, tells it like it is, doesn't suffer fools gladly.

Wordsmithing wasn't involved.

32. Guess you haven't watched him on his many appearances on cable news shows

He regularly displays brilliantly articulated take downs of trump and the rest of the cowardly, incompetent repugs.

I agree though that this one was pungently earthy.

34. I haven't seen him, and I'll gladly take your word for that.

But this is not an example of wordsmithing, it is an example of blunt honesty.

And pleasantly surprised. You go, Steve.

8. There actually ARE decent Republicans left

Too bad none of them are in elective office. And yes, I know Schmidt left the party. I personally know several people who've done the same, including my older brother.

36. Oh wow, I didn't know that

I have also wondered why someone like Ana Navarro retains her R membership. But on the other hand, while I am baffled at that, and would have had Steve also still been a member, I think they do us more service in some ways, retaining their claim to the grand old party. As examples to other Republicans who will never switch, of a way forward for a new improved more moderate conservative party.

19. She doesn't cave, she lies

Caving suggests that she was actually considering voting the other way. It is all political cover to get herself positive press. I honestly believe that the only reason that Collins and Murkowski voted against the ACA repeal was because they were expecting John McCain to vote for it. I don't give them any credit for that vote. They only vote against something when the result isn't in doubt. They are both liars and cowards, and probably couldn't care less about Roe v. Wade.

20. At the beginning she takes the posture that helps her look like a moderate so she appeals to a ....

... wider voting audience.

Then once she captures all this media attention about how she is such a thoughtful moderate, she then sneaks out the backdoor and runs to vote with the Fascist Rethugs. Review her voting record... 85% trDump policy supporter.

She is a moderate for the beneficial media optics only... then she falls in line to quietly vote with the Fascists.

For Donnelly he will gain more votes by voting no ..the same for Manchin.

I will keep calling and calling so at least I know I did try something anyway. I am stubborn and angry with these spineless reps.

"He is best known for persuading McCain to select Sarah Palin as his running mate. He specialized in "message development and strategy"

18. If they all don't vote NO on Kavanaugh, they will be architects of a lot more than the destruction

...of Roe v Wade....

They will be the architects of the destruction of Obamacare and laws that protect us all....

They will lose their jobs, but it will be too late for all of us...

28. AK and ME are both heavily pro-abortion. These senators

have been hoping to maintain plausible deniability about knowing Kavanaugh's real stance, but our party leaders have made blowing these betraying hypocrites' cover a significant part of their strategy for defeating this nomination. Success, of course, depends on their pro-abortion conservative voters' degree of anger or apathy. If one turned tail to protect herself, that will make it very difficult for the other, who'd become the woman who killed legal abortion.

Blabby Trump's helping. He's said many times that he's appointing justices to overturn Roe v. Wade, including just this week in speaking about Kavanaugh.

I wonder if this isn’t more about Schmidt’s own disdain for Trump.

That's why it matters more than all the others.

Were it not for his dislike of Trump. He was involved with the nomination of Scalito and I doubt he called out Collins then.

what the GOP has become. I accept what you are saying, and have asked a similar question myself but we cannot unring that bell.
