"A Face in the Crowd"

For you young ones,THIS is a must-see movie (especially now that he's besmirching southerners)

It's an oldie (b&W), but it's one of a very few that should be seen every so often

another is of course, "1984" ( I prefer the book)

1. One of the best movies ever. And how can you not think of it?

The full tilt narcissistic collapse of Lonesome Rhodes should be required watching for every psych and poly sci student in the country.

3. Never saw it Thank you

From the wiki link
With the support of the show's staff writer Mel Miller (Walter Matthau) and Jeffries, the charismatic Rhodes ad libs his way to Memphis area popularity. When he pokes fun at his sponsor, a mattress company, they initially pull their adsóbut when his adoring audience revolts, burning mattresses in the street, the sponsor discovers that Rhodes' irreverent pitches actually increased sales by 55%, and Rhodes returns to the air with a new awareness of his power of persuasion.

4. TCM Featured this

During Election week last year, they also had "The Best Man" from 1964, that one starred Henry Fonda and Cliff Robertson. Gore Vidal wrote the screenplay

6. I recorded it a couple years but still haven't watched it yet.

Gotta get to it. Had also recorded The Manchurian Candidate (the original with Sinatra) and did finally watch it last year... and actually watched the remake version with Denzel Washington last month.
